As expected, SUICIDE SQUAD slays its opposition with a $44 million in its second week out, from 4,255 theatres for Warner Bros. In two weeks it has made $222 million.
Surprising in second is SAUSAGE PARTY, the raunchy Animated Feature voiced by Kristen Wiig and Seth Rogen among others in the star-studded cast, with $32.7 million for Sony Pictures from 3,103 theatres. Audiences gave it a B CinemaScore and Critics gave it an 83% on the Tomatometer.
PETE’S DRAGON debuts in third with $20.8 million for Disney, from 3,702 theatres. Critics gave the remake a strong 85% on the Tomatometer and Audiences gave it an equal A at CinemaScore.
JASON BOURNE is in fourth this weekend with $13.1 million for Universal Pictures in its third week out.
BAD MOMS is in fifth with $11.4 million for STX Entertainment/eOne Films, a total of $71.3 million in three weeks.
FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS opens in eighth with $6.1 million from 1,528 theatres for eOne Films/Paramount Pictures. The Comedy starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant gets an A-CinemaScore and an 86% on the Tomatometer.
Rounding-out the Top Ten with $3 million for Warner Bros. is the Horror LIGHTS OUT in its fourth week out. It just surpassed the $60 million-mark this week.
