#BOXOFFICE: “SUICIDE SQUAD” MAKES IT A THREE-PEAT!
For a third straight week, Warner Bros. secures the top of the Box Office with SUICIDE SQUAD! Taking in $20 million this weekend, the supervillain fest brings its tally to $262 million in North America.
In second again this weekend is Sony Pictures’ adult Animated Feature SAUSAGE PARTY with $15.7 million. In two weeks it has grossed a healthy $65 million.
In third this weekend is Warner Bros.‘ WAR DOGS, which earns $14.8 million in its debut from 3,258 theatres. The Miles Teller-Jonah Hill pairing gets 59% from Critics on the Tomatometer and a B CinemaScore.
KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS gets a solid fourth place opening for eOne Films/Focus Features with $12.1 million from 3,260 theatres. Reviews for the Animated Feature voiced by the likes of Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara and Matthew McConaughey, gets a phenomenal 96% on the Tomatometer and an A CinemaScore.
BEN-HUR opens in fifth for Paramount Pictures with $11 million from 3,064 theatres. It gets panned by Critics with a 30% on the Tomatometer but inversely an A CinemaScore.
