Straight from the streets of New York, the iconic Prince Street Pizza has arrived in Toronto, marking its 10th location and the pizzeria’s first international location. Today, its doors open to the public serving up its famous square slices at The Well, the city’s newest mixed-use hub.
Lawrence Longo, who moved to California from Toronto in the early 2000s, is an entrepreneur with a passion for food and a desire to bring quality, delicious bites to consumers. In 2020, Canadian entrepreneur Longo – whose portfolio also includes Off the Menu and Irv’s Burger – became owner and CEO of Prince Street Pizza. At this time, Longo saw an opportunity to not only expand his business internationally, but bring his passion for food to his hometown by opening a New York institution in the newly constructed, The Well.
“Prince Street Pizza has been serving slices for more than a decade in New York and across the U.S, and our visitors from Toronto keep asking for a location here. Well, the wait is over – we’re here,” said Longo. “I grew up in Toronto, my family is here, so opening in this city is extra special to me. We know the pizza scene is thriving in the city and we’re excited to bring our Sicilian squares to the fold.”
To ensure any pizza made in locations outside of New York City tastes the same as the original, Longo insists on using the same ingredients – and that includes NYC water, which is made possible by the New York water filtration system installed in the kitchen. The pizzeria also features brick walls, high ceilings, and a variety of menu options, including Original SOHO Squares: SPICY SPRING™, PRINCE PERFECTION, MERCER MARGHERITA, SPICY VODKA, FOUR CHEESE, VEGAN SQUARE, MEAT LOVERS, and the newest crowd favourite, NAUGHTY PIE.
The delectable fare doesn’t end there – customers can also enjoy round NEAPOLITAN STYLE PIZZAS including the ORIGINAL PRINCE, THE FANCY PRINCE, BOOZY BROOME, GREEN MACHINE, OAKEY SMOKEY, and VEGGIE ORIGINAL.
We had the joy of visiting already! Check-out our experience!

Following the announcement earlier today of The Beatles’ forthcoming single “Now and Then,” CBC today announced the exclusive Canadian broadcast rights to Now and Then – The Last Beatles Song, a short documentary film that explores the story behind the last Beatles song, with exclusive footage and commentary from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon and Peter Jackson. Now and Then – The Last Beatles Song will broadcast exclusively in Canada on CBC TV at 3:30 p.m. ET, with an encore broadcast at 11:30 p.m. local time, and will be available to stream for free on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 on CBC Gem as of 3:30 p.m. ET. In addition to the premiere of the Now and Then – The Last Beatles Song documentary film, CBC’s broadcast special will feature additional exclusive content and conversation around the momentous Beatles release.
Now and Then – The Last Beatles Song documentary film is written and directed by Oliver Murray and tells the story behind the new single, which was written and sung by John Lennon, developed and worked on by Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, and now finally finished by McCartney and Starr more than four decades later. The short film will be available to stream on CBC Gem for 30 days following the November 1 premiere.
The story of “Now And Then” begins in the late 1970s, when John Lennon recorded a demo with vocals and piano at his home in New York’s Dakota Building. In 1994, his wife, Yoko Ono Lennon, gave the recording to McCartney, Harrison and Starr, along with Lennon’s demos for “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love”, which were both completed as new Beatles songs and respectively released as singles in 1995 and 1996, as part of The Beatles Anthology project. At the same time, McCartney, Harrison and Starr also recorded new parts and completed a rough mix for “Now And Then” with producer Jeff Lynne. At that point, technological limitations prevented Lennon’s vocals and piano from being separated to achieve the clear, unclouded mix needed to finish the song. “Now And Then” was shelved, with a hope that one day it would be revisited.
Cut to 2021, and the release of “The Beatles: Get Back” docuseries, directed by Peter Jackson, which astonished viewers with its award-winning film and audio restoration. Using WingNut Films’ MAL audio technology, Jackson’s team had de-mixed the film’s mono soundtrack, managing to isolate instruments and vocals, and all the individual voices within The Beatles conversations. This achievement opened the way to 2022’s new mix of Revolver, sourced directly from the four-track master tapes. This led to a question: what could be done with the “Now And Then” demo? Peter Jackson and his sound team, led by Emile de la Rey, applied the same technique to Lennon’s original home recording, preserving the clarity and integrity of his original vocal performance by separating it from the piano.
In 2022, McCartney and Starr set about completing the song. Besides Lennon’s vocal, “Now And Then” includes electric and acoustic guitar recorded in 1995 by Harrison, Starr’s new drum part, and bass, guitar and piano from McCartney, which matches Lennon’s original playing. McCartney added a slide guitar solo inspired by Harrison; he and Starr also contributed backing vocals to the chorus.
In Los Angeles, McCartney oversaw a Capitol Studios recording session for the song’s wistful, quintessentially Beatles string arrangement, written by Giles Martin, McCartney and Ben Foster. McCartney and Martin also added one last, subtle touch: backing vocals from the original recordings of “Here, There And Everywhere”, “Eleanor Rigby” and “Because”, woven into the new song using the techniques perfected during the making of the LOVE show and album. The finished track was produced by McCartney and Martin, and mixed by Spike Stent.
Season 6 Part 1 premieres on Netflix on November 16, 2023 and today we get some new images! These first four episodes of the final season depict a relationship blossoming between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences.
Today we get a new Trailer:
New stills:

Speaking about her starring role in this season, Elizabeth Debicki (Princess Diana) said: “I think it’s a really unique challenge as an actor, to portray those days. I really just trusted in Peter’s emotional blueprint that he created for us to follow. It’s his interpretation and I think it made emotional sense to me, so I clung to that. Because, obviously, it’s devastating and it’s fraught and we can never know.”
For both Dominic West (Prince Charles) and Imelda Staunton (Queen Elizabeth II) there is an ease and an understanding to taking on these characters for a second season.
Imelda Staunton says “I’ve been living with her for a long time so, if anything, I felt more comfortable this time. I love her stillness and her ability to not be thrown by everything that must have constantly – throughout her whole life – gone on around her.”
Dominic West says of Prince Charles: “I think he’s got real sadness to him and real compassion and what’s great about The Crown is that you see these public figures in private. I suspect in private he’s quite emotional, well that’s the way I played him anyway… I think, hopefully, what comes out is compassionate but relatively well-balanced.
“I talked to a lot of people who have met him because he’s met a lot of people, he’s met probably more than anyone except the Queen and Prince Philip. Almost everyone has extremely warm, kind things to say about him.”
Salim Daw feels strongly about playing Mohamed Al Fayed: “I adore this character. I love him so much and I enjoy portraying him because I love him. In this huge series, he is so human and he’s so colourful. He’s hard sometimes, very hard, funny, like a child – with his son he’s sometimes very, very hard but he has plenty of love for his son and the audience will see that and will feel exactly what I’m talking about.”
And Khalid Abdalla on playing his son, Dodi Fayed says: “It’s been the honour of my life to be part of this project, to be part of The Crown, and to play Dodi”
The 6th season of THE CROWN will close out the genre-defining prestige royal saga that has been on screens since 2016. The Crown’s final season will premiere in two parts: Part 1 on November 16th and Part 2 on December 14th.
Since premiering on Netflix in 2016, THE CROWN has been nominated for and won multiple awards, including 69 Emmy Nominations across 5 seasons (with 21 wins including Best Drama across 4 seasons), 10 Golden Globe Nominations (including 4 wins), 15 BAFTA nominations, and more.
This final season will draw to a conclusion sixty hours of television that have introduced stars such as Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby, Emma Corrin, Josh O’Connor and more.
