Great news, Toronto! Beautiful Actress/Model (and former Wife of John Stamos) Rebecca Romijn has just been cast in upcoming TNT Pilot, King and Maxwell. Centering around a Pair of former Secret Service Agents who use their skills to fight Criminals. Maxwell (Romijn) is forced to resign from the Secret Service is driven to prove herself once again, while King (Jon Tenney) plays her Counterpart. We can expect some explosive Chemistry between the Duo.
Several parallels already are being drawn between King and Maxwell and Series Moonlighting (1985-1989), which made Bruce Willis a Household Name. This of course isn’t the first time Romijn‘s been here as 2000 Blockbuster X-Men, which had her starring as Mystique, was filmed mostly in-and-around Toronto. That Role since has been taken-over by Jennifer Lawrence.
The Shoot will be fast and furious, taking place in Toronto between November 3-15, 2012. Thanks Michelle for the heads-up!

Unbelievably, Ben Affleck’s Argo finds itself at number one with $12.5 million on a really tepid Weekend, climbing steadily to the summit since its debut three weeks ago. The Drama which is seen widely as a Frontrunner for Best Picture, still is showing in 2,855 theatres across North America. To-date it has earned $61.5 million domestically.
Mega-Opus Cloud Atlas, despite gaining high marks for Artistic Merit, alas debuts below expectations in second with $9.5 million for Warner Bros. Critics gave it favourable Reviews, tallying 61% on the Tomatometer. The Film with a Cast of Megastars including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving and several more, was made for a budget of $102 million.
Former number one Hotel Transylvania still is going strong into Halloween with $9 million in its fifth week – enough to land it in third this weekend for Sony Pictures, just ahead of last week’s Champion Paranormal Activity 4, which happens also to be in fourth with $8.6 million.
Silent Hill: Revelation 3-D which debuts in fifth with $8.5 million, from 2,933 theatres for Open Road/Alliance Films. The Horror which was filmed in Toronto, earned only 7% on the Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes.
Rounding-out the Horror Contingent is Sinister, which still hanging-tough in ninth with $5 million in its third week. Pitch Perfect rounds out the Top Ten for Universal Pictures with $4.2 million.
Indulgence. Never mind its suggestively dubious Name, Glory Hole Doughnuts is some serious goodness. Tucked-away at Queen x Roncesvalles, the Doughnut Shop is all Old School Charm-meets-Modern Hipster Sensibility. I love it.
Inspired Doughnut varieties are irresistible, including the Elvis (Toasted Marshmallow, Banana, Bacon and Peanuts), Black Forest Cake (Cherry and Chocolate Icing), Cookies & Cream, Bread & Butter (topped with buttery Bread Crumbs), Pretzel (Chocolate-dipped, topped with Pretzel bits), Kensington Brewing Co. Beer (Nut Crumbs on a Beer-infused Icing), Lemon Meringue (literally topped with Lemon-flavoured Meringue), Banana Cream Pie and more. In-time for Halloween, they had even festive decorative Doughnuts dressed like Monsters. For the month, it is is re-dubbed cleverly as Gory Hole Doughnuts with the letter “l” in Glory blacked-out and scary adornments creep-out the Shop.
The Handmade Doughnut base is delightfully doughy, chewy and substantial to the bite, but some might argue that at $3.00+ a Pop, Toronto’s newest Confectionery Darling in the long run might be seen as a Novelty Treat versus a regular Go-To for Doughnut Cravings. Nonetheless, the Experience is memorable and I had a wonderful time with my Friends Keith, Amy and Chris – all of us super-excited and welcomed with open arms! The Drip-Brewed Coffee is bold and flavourful, available in 1 lb. Take-Home Bags – Cups however, should be larger as we’re living in a Venti-sized post-Starbucks World now.
Visit Glory Hole Doughnuts’ Official Website for more here. They are located at 1596 Queen st. West, Toronto, open 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, seven days a week.

Based on the overwhelming amount of requests for more, I put-in a bit of Legwork and was lucky enough to spot the brilliant Jonathan Rhys Meyers tonight on his way back from doing Groceries, following a day at work on the Set of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. I had the absolute honour of being the first to nab a Photo with him just a couple weeks back. Read about it here!
Fans who have met Meyers during his stay in Toronto have had nothing but glowing comments about the Irish Actor and I actually have both Photographic and Video Proof of his kindness. See these overjoyed Fans receive a kiss from him after he was touched by their generous gesture of a Gift!
Watch the Video below:
Filming wraps in just under two weeks for this first Film Adaptation of Cassandra Clare‘s Series of Novels, which already has massive expectations for huge numbers.

24-year-old Irish Actor Robert Sheehan is on the verge of major Stardom Stateside, currently in Toronto filming The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, playing the integral role of Simon Lewis, who has pined for Clary Fray (Lily Collins) since Childhood. The Actor who has received a BAFTA Nomination for his work in popular Series, The Misfits, soon will be wrapping filming here in the City and although I’ve crossed paths with him a few times in the area, tonight I finally got a Photo with him. Sheehan has been enjoying the company of a good Buddy (seen to his left above) who has been staying with him of late.
Decked-out in a Fedora and an amazing Fur-lined Peacoat (it was faux he tells me!), the Actor headed-out with his Friend after a long day on-set, stopping to greet Fans and sign a few Autographs. What’s that? You’d want one too? Of course! Some Fans noted that he was out at Massey Hall the other night enjoying The XX’s Show earlier this week and recently also participated in the Zombie Walk.

Now this I’m super-excited about! Jackie Earle Haley is a true Survivor after having seen several highs and lows in his Career, which began back in the ’70s with his work in The Bad News Bears. After a lengthy absence, Haley resurfaced in winning form back in 2006, receiving an Oscar Nomination for his work in Little Children (one of my favourite Films of all time), alongside Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson. In that Film he delivers a moving performance as a Child Molester fighting his own personal Demons in a struggle to integrate back into Society.
Haley has been spotted in-and-around Toronto with his Wife Amelia Cruz, particularly enjoying the top-notch Cantonese Fare served at Dynasty Chinese Cuisine, as reported by Fans who spotted him there twice this week alone. He currently is at-work on the Reboot of RoboCop filming here with the likes of Joel Kinnaman (spotted here), Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish and more.
In addition to having been seen in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows earlier this year, he next can be seen in Oscar Bait Lincoln, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, which opens in theatres November 16, 2012.

Funnyman Jack McBrayer is in Toronto for a long-overdue visit in support of his latest Film, Wreck-It Ralph for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Canada. The Funnyman known best for his work as Kenneth Parcell on NBC‘s Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Comedy Series 30 Rock, arrived yesterday after doing a round of Press in New York City and met some Fans on MuchMusic‘s New.Music.Live last night.
This morning he did the rounds including visits to KISS 92.5 and also CityTV’s Breakfast Television (watch his appearance here). McBrayer was super-nice to stop and greet Fans with a bit of time to spare this morning at CityTV. Billy even jumped-in for a Photo, staying just enough out of potential Fashion Crisis‘ way, careful not to shed onto his Black Sweater!
With 30 Rock soon concluding after seven v. successful seasons, McBrayer can next be soon in Savannah and Movie 43 alongside an All-Star Cast which includes the likes of Kate Winslet, Emma Stone, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Naomi Watts, Anna Faris, Gerard Butler and many more. He also has been cast in Disney Animated Series, Wander Over Yonder in the Lead Role of Wander.
Wreck-It Ralph has McBrayer voicing the Character of Fix-It Felix in the Animated Feature about a Video Game Villain – the Titular Character – who wishes to change his ways with the help of Felix. Featuring also the Voice Work of Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman and John C. Reilly, the Film opens Friday, November 2, 2012. Watch the Trailer here.

Rounding out the Irish Contingent in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is Aidan Turner, currently in Toronto still filming the eagerly-awaited Blockbuster. The handsome Actor sporting a Blonde Streak in his wavy hair, was spotted tonight in Toronto awaiting the arrival of his Girlfriend, later going out for a stroll together. Amazingly, he was able to multitask greeting his Girlfriend and snapping Photos with Fans at once. Talent!
Turner stars as Luke Garroway in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, a Werewolf who also is second-in-command to Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ Valentine Morgenstern. His Star rapidly is on the rise as he next can be seen in The Hobbit: An Expected Journey, recently wrapping work on all three Installments.

Good things come in big packages. Former WWF Wrestler Kurrgan, né Robert Maillet currently is in Toronto filming The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. The 6’10 Actor was spotted out and about tonight in Toronto, enjoying an uncharacteristically warm October night, stopping to pose for Photos with Fans.
New Brunswick-born Maillet spent some time in Toronto this past Winter filming Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim, but is back again filming this first Film Adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s popular Novels, starring as Samuel Blackwell, who extends his loyalties to Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ Valentine Morgenstern, the Film’s primary Villain.
