GRAMMY® & Emmy Award-winning superstar singer, songwriter, rapper, instrumentalist, and actress Lizzo has released her new album, Bitch.
Lizzo, who first coined the phrase ‘I’m 100% that bitch’ on her Diamond-selling single “Truth Hurts” will continue to shape pop culture with her newly released album.
On the inspiration for the album title Lizzo shares, “Reclaiming the word Bitch is power – it’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence, and unapologetic self-love. So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliot. It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms and because I am 100% that bitch!”
Among the album’s standout tracks is “Sexy Ladies,” a reimagined version of “Sexy Lady,” the 2005 hit from D.C. go-go band UCB (Uncalled 4 Band). The track honors the UCB classic and celebrates the go-go genre as they commemorate 50 years of Washington, D.C.’s official music.
Last month, Lizzo released the title track Bitch (listen HERE) along with a new video directed by child featuring Lizzo and an entourage of performers—watch HERE. The track was produced by frequent collaborators Ricky Reed, Blake Slatkin & Zack Sekoff and interpolates Meredith Brooks’ smash hit of the same name.
Back in March, Lizzo released “Don’t Make Me Love U”, a standout track from the new album. The song was met with immense praise from critics and fans alike, kicking off Lizzo’s new musical era with a striking video depicting Lizzo grappling with her past-self, reflecting and eventually evolving through learning and growth.
Earlier this year Lizzo performed a fully sold-out run of shows at Blue Note Jazz Club’s Los Angeles & New York locations, totalling a run of 12 performances. Variety heralded that “these shows reminded the audience, up close and personal, what a major talent Lizzo is: a top-class singer, an engaging and entertaining performer, and to a degree we haven’t really seen before, a trained, serious musician.” She most recently headlined an electrifying performance to a sold-out Houston Rodeo with over 70,000 fans earlier this spring. Most recently, she performed at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show– streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on June 9th– in Miami, where she sang “Sexy Ladies.”
Aside from music, Lizzo recently announced the upcoming release of her first ever children’s book Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin’, coming to bookshelves all over on September 8th, 2026. Published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, the story tells the tale of a bubbly little girl who just wants to belong meeting a smart and brassy flute who can’t find her tune, winding up on a wild adventure to places filled with incredible sounds. Lizzo is also starring as Rock N Roll pioneer & gospel singer Sister Rosetta Tharpe in the upcoming film “Rosetta” from Amazon MGM Studios. She also appeared on The Roast of Kevin Hart, further highlighting her versatility across entertainment, comedy and tv.
