There’s nothing invisible about the love moviegoers are having for THE INVISIBLE MAN. The Leigh Whannell adaptation finds itself at #1 in its debut this weekend for Universal Pictures/Blumhouse, with $27 million from 3,610 theatres. The Horror gets 89% on the Tomatometer and a B+ CinemaScore, which is high for the genre.
In second is SONIC THE HEDGEHOG with $15.5 million from 4,177 theatres for Paramount Pictures, bringing its three week tally to $127.8 million in North America.
Third is THE CALL OF THE WILD with $13.4 million from 3,865 theatres of Disney, a two week take of $46.1 million.
Fourth is a surprising MY HERO ACADEMIA: HEROES RISING with $5.7 million from 1,260 theatres for Funimation Films. This has opened only in the U.S.
Seventh spot goes to IMPRACTICAL JOKERS: THE MOVIE with $2.8 million from 1,705 theatres for Warner Bros. Over two weeks, the TV Show branch-off has grossed $5.9 million.
FANTASY ISLAND rounds it all out with $2.4 million from 2,724 theatres, a three week total of $24 million for Sony Pictures. It was made for $7 million.
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG runs away with the top spot again this weekend with $26.6 million from 4,198 theatres for Paramount Pictures, bringing it’s it’s already to $101 million heading into its second week.
THE CALL OF THE WILD opens in second spot with $23 million from 3,752 theatres for 20th Century Fox/Disney. It gets 64% on the Tomatometer and an A- CinemaScore for NEON/MK2.
BIRDS OF PREY perches in third with $7.6 million, a three-week total of $73.1 million for Warner Bros.
BAD BOYS FOR LIFE is in fourth, still going strong with $5.4 million for Sony Pictures, a total $190 million earned domestically.
BRAHMS: BOY II debuts in fifth with $5.2 million from 2,151 theatres for STX Entertainment/Elevation Pictures. It gets 9% on the Tomatometer and a C- CinemaScore.
Best Picture winner PARASITE rounds it all out with $4 million from 1,803 theatres.
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG races to #1 this weekend at the Box Office, a total $57 million from 4,167 theatres in its opening for Paramount Pictures. The SEGA video game adaptation gets 64% on the Tomatometer and an A CinemaScore.
BIRDS OF PREY perches in second with $15.3 million for Warner Bros. This takes its tally to $61 million domestically.
FANTASY ISLAND opens in third with $13.5 million from 2,784 theatres for Sony Pictures. The Horror adaptation of the popular TV Series, gets 10% on the Tomatometer and a C- CinemaScore.
THE PHOTOGRAPH debuts in fourth for Universal Pictures, with $12.2 million from 2,516 theatres. The Romance starring Lakeith Stanfield and Issa Rae, gets 76% on the Tomatometer and a B+ CinemaScore.
PARASITE going strong off its Best Picture win at the Oscars, surfaces in eighth with $5.5 million from 2,001 theatres for NEON/MK2.
DOWNHILL debuts in tenth with $4.7 million for Searchlight Pictures. The English adaptation of Swedish film Force Majeure starring Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss gets 41% on the Tomatometer and a D CinemaScore.

Synopsis:
