The third season of our favourite Reality Show ever, is coming back real soon! Netflix‘s BLING EMPIRE delves a bit deeper into the complex friendships we love so much in the Series and while we get a tad less opulence here, this season really explores themes of healing, repair of friendships and closure.
Business is going well for Kane and his real estate ventures. One small spoiler: he brings Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause over to a Hot Pot gathering this season! He also gets hired by Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty for a campaign, which really makes Kevin jealous, especially when he’s been struggling of late getting work as an aging model and really has to find ways to make some money. Their friendship has been on-the-rocks and we wonder if they will patch things up at all. We won’t give too much away, Kevin’s really down on his luck in every way, including love. This season continues to explore his and Kim‘s failed-to-launch relationship. It’s clear he still has feelings for her, whereas she’s not into it. But how crazy is it that she’s seeing a Healer who Kevin happens to start dating? She’s fully aware what she’s doing to him, but also knows he isn’t what she wants and that’s interesting. Kelly‘s introduced to a someone new by Kane and everything’s going well but her controlling ex-boyfriend Andrew resurfaces thanks to lapse in judgment by Queen Bee Anna, whom we hardly get enough of in this season. We do see her make right with Kim after a rocky past. And of course, who doesn’t love Kim? And we really see her archnemesis Christine on her Dancing with the Stars journey, and really getting into it with Kane and Jaime – which is what we signed-up for! She is still upset at them for stirring some trouble up last season between her and Anna. Also, where is Deborah? Remember Deborah who put Kane is his place Season Two??
Though this third season doesn’t quite have the same level of energy and fun as its prior seasons, it really lends itself to cleaning-up some of the messes that were made, especially in the second season. We miss some of the togetherness and the gatherings that brought everyone in the Cast out, in itself creating drama. Plus also those genuinely vulnerable moments in the adventures we went on. We still were so affected by Kim‘s search of her biological father and hope we get that level of emotion and truth again. We love the intimate conversations among the Cast, some who just simply don’t get along, but still have to be around each other in their circle.
So happy we didn’t have to wait too long for this new set of ten episodes. We’re still hopeful for a Cherie reunion especially after news of her getting married to Jessey finally. We do miss her lots! BLING EMPIRE Season Three arrives October 5, 2022 on Netflix.
It was one for the books as the second CCYAA (Canadian Chinese Youth Athletic Association) Celebrity Classic powered by Virgin Plus, took place last night at the University of Toronto‘s Goldring Centre! Headlined by and featuring guest appearances by the likes of Simu Liu and NBA star Jeremy Lin, Comedian Ronny Chieng, Comedian Hasan Minhaj, Bling Empire star Kim Lee, Shang-Chi star Meng’er Zhang and more, the weekend was highlighted by a series of events leading up to the match. The event raises funds for the Jeremy Lin Foundation and the CCYAA’s new Community Centre.
Among the festivities this weekend were three Comedy Shows at Yuk Yuk’s with Comedian Julie Kim headlining. Kim recently wrote the Script for the JUNOS, hosted by Liu, and is confirmed for the upcoming Just for Laughs Festival! There also was a Youth Jam held at Goldring Centre, plus a four-day vendor Festival, FRESH FEST, at indoor Asian Night Market, SUPERFRESH in the Annex. For one day only, popular California Bubble Tea Chain BOPOMOFE CAFE did a pop-up shop which saw at one point, a 90-minute queue outside the hotspot.
As expected, Lin strut his stuff at the tournament, not to be outshined by Content Creator Mike Wu, whom many were saying deserved MVP! Fans went wild seeing up-close and personal some of their Asian-Canadian/American idols!
We were out and about and so thrilled to get to meet some of the stars in-town for the affair celebrating North American Asian Excellence.
See who we spotted, with a little help from beanie!
This event is amazing and hoping in coming years it remains an annual thing! So important to celebrate the accomplishments of this Community!
