#SPOTTED: ICONA POP IN TORONTO FOR ONE DIRECTION’S “ON THE ROAD AGAIN” TOUR
You know them v. well from their massive hit, I LOVE IT! Swedish Pop Duo ICONA POP‘s crossover has been gradual and true to their brand of catch hits, their latest effort EMERGENCY now is impacting domestically. Members Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo already have toured with the greats including Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry and now they are opening for one of the largest Pop Acts in the World, One Direction, playing tonight at the Rogers Centre as part of their On the Road Again Tour.
Icona Pop visited City‘s Breakfast Television in the 7:00 AM hour, chatting with Dina Pugliese, before heading over later to Global’s The Morning Show (National Edition), opting for an underground entrance. Still though, they apologized for not being able to come out and posed for cutesy photos through the window with heart symbols. Adorbs.

Adore them! Swedish Pop Duo Icona Pop finally grace us with a brand new Single and it’s definitely a Winner. All Night might not be as defiant and high-energy as their Smash I Love It, but it’s equally infectious the type of Song we want to hear as we head towards mid/late-Summer. Consisting of Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, Icona Pop are slated to release a full-length Disc, This Is… later this year from Warner Music Canada.

#NEWMUSIC: ICONA POP “ICONIC” EP IN STORES MAY 7, 2013
It honestly isn’t every day that I go on about a new Musical Act, but I am obsessed with Icona Pop. The Swedish Electro-House Duo is comprised of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo and they are working hard still at building their Following touring the Festival Circuit including Coachella and The Grove Music Festival which hits both Toronto and Niagara Falls this August!
I first learned of Icona Pop after hearing their I Love It on an episode of this v. dark season two of HBO‘s Girls and haven’t looked back since. Their Iconic EP was an instant Must-Have importing it in on eBay, only to learn via our Friends at Warner Music Canada that the Disc soon will a domestic release at long last!
Even Top 40 Stations locally are catching-on to the greatness that is Icona Pop and I Love It quickly is gaining Airplay on the likes of Toronto’s #1 Hit Music Station, KISS 92.5! It already has peaked at number nine on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100!
