#NEWMUSIC: MAISIE PETERS “MY REGARDS” MUSIC VIDEO

Maisie Peters has released ‘My Regards’, the lead single from her recently announced new album Florescence.

After ‘You You You’, ‘Audrey Hepburn’ and ‘Say My Name In Your Sleep’, ‘My Regards’ offers a fresh taste of Florescence, with Maisie embracing her power, claiming her man, and radiating the assured glow of being truly loved – from her boyfriend’s bedroom.

“My Regards feels powerful, tongue in cheek, sexy and funny, all of which I feel are parts of myself I hadn’t really gotten to explore much musically up until this album!,” explains Maisie. “I was inspired by a lot of the country greats and their ‘stand by your man songs’, and so I thought I’d write my own modern day version; however in this song I get to play the role of fierce protector instead of simpering love interest, which is so often how women have been depicted in relationships throughout history.”

Inspired by the lyric “call me Kevin Costner the way I’m guarding his body,” Maisie teamed up with Amelia Dimoldenberg for her music video directorial debut, putting a modern spin on the 1992 classic The Bodyguard. Playing with the song’s subversive nature, Maisie steps into the role of a security guard protecting a movie star, played by Overcompensating creator and star Benito Skinner. Watch here.

“Directing this music video for Maisie has been an absolute joy,” shares Amelia. “From the moment I heard the track, I knew we had to lean into her gift for storytelling. I thought it would be interesting to subvert the ‘possessive girlfriend’ trope by making Maisie a literal bodyguard. It felt like a fun way to heighten the narrative.”

Arriving on 15 May, Florescence is co-produced with 2x Grammy Winner Ian Fitchuck. Featuring collaborations with Julia Michaels and Marcus Mumford, the record is a meditation on how the right love can help heal the wrong ones. It’s an album about perspective, self-realisation, healing, and ultimately, learning how to flourish.

Maisie will embark on a new run of global ‘Before The Bloom’ theatre dates on 1 March at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, the tour will travel through Australia, East Asia, Europe, the UK, America, and Canada – see the full itinerary below, and access ticket here. #FIRSTLOOK: NEW TRAILER FOR “OVERCOMPENSATING”

Today, Prime Video released the official trailer for Overcompensating, created by and starring Benito Skinner. They also announced additional guest stars Lukas Gage (Companion), Megan Fox (New Girl), Bowen Yang (The Wedding Banquet), Matt Rogers (No Good Deed) James Van Der Beek (Varsity Blues), Didi Conn (Harlan Coben’s Shelter), Rachel Matthews (Upgraded), Danielle Perez (The Night Agent), Boman Martinez Reid (Made For TV with Boman Martinez-Reid) and Yasmine Sahid who will appear in the series.

The comedy series, produced by A24, Strong Baby and Amazon MGM Studios, will premiere all eight episodes on May 15, 2025 on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Previouslyannounced cast members of Overcompensating include Wally Baram (Shrinking), Mary Beth Barone (Black Mirror), Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus) and Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel). Today, Prime Video announced it has ordered Benito Skinner’s Overcompensating to series. Skinner (pictured above, left) will write, star, and executive produce with Jonah Hill, Matt Dines, and Ali Goodwin of Strong Baby. Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Charli XCX (pictured above, right) will produce original music for the series. Overcompensating is co-produced by A24 and Amazon MGM Studios and set to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Overcompensating is a college-set ensemble comedy about the wild, chaotic journey of Benny (Skinner), a closeted former football player and homecoming king, as he becomes fast friends with Carmen, a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs. Skinner can be recognized from his viral characters and sketches under the name Benny Drama, where he has collaborated with Jennifer Aniston, Kourtney Kardashian, Drew Barrymore, and others. One of Variety’s “Comics to Watch,” he will next be seen co-starring alongside Chelsea Peretti, Amy Poehler, Kate Berlant, and Meg Stalter in the feature film First Time Female Director. Skinner also recently completed a nationwide live-theater tour of his beloved podcast, Ride, alongside co-host Mary Beth Barone. Other television appearances include Queer as Folk and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
