Good gracious! He provided the Soundtrack for much of our early 2000s and his songs to this day still stand the test of time. I love Nelly and he’s gifted us with so many bangers. “Hot in Herre”, “Dilemma”, “Ride Wit Me”, “Country Grammar” and so much more. The Rapper/Singer is here to remind us that he’s back in Toronto this June for one of this Summer’s biggest events June 24, 2023 at Downsview Park, this year’s edition of the 90’s Nostalgia Tour. He’ll be headlining a huge, star-studded lineup that includes the likes of Ne-Yo, Akon, T.I., Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Ja Rule, Keri Hilson and Chingy!
Nelly did the rounds earlier today including appearances on Breakfast Television, Your Morning, Virgin Radio, CP24 Breakfast and more in a rare visit to the City!
You can get your tickets for the Concert here.
We’ve waited so many years to finally meet Nelly and it happened. He was so nice, signing autographs for his devout fans and stopping for Selfies!

Pride Celebrations continue north of the City at 90s Nostalgia Divas & Drag Queens at Improve Canada in Vaughan tonight!🌈
The outdoor affair combined live music and Drag together for one special night. Queen of the North herself and Judge-Host of Canada’s Drag Race, Brooke Lynn Hytes came out as well – pardon the pun – plus RuPaul’s Drag Race/Canada’s Drag Race Alumni including Utica, Denali, Pythia, Adriana, Tynomi Banks and more. Season 13 RuPaul’s Drag Race Winner Symone originally was slated but was removed from the list last week. On the Music side, R&B Singer Estelle, Kiesza, Dev, Simone Denny, Rêve, Robin S and Charvoni of Black Box, among others graced the stage.
You’ve probably heard Beyoncé‘s amazing new single “BREAK MY SOUL” which took inspiration from Robin S’ “SHOW ME LOVE“. Queen B even sent her some flowers yesterday to thank her for paving the way.
We were so thrilled to see the brilliant Kiesza, who makes a triumphant return to the stage after recovering from a traumatic brain injury a few years ago. She’s such an inspiration and weve met her a few times at events, and she’s always so lovely. Her Blockbuster Hit “HIDEAWAY” remains the benchmark of Dance Pop done right and we can’t wait to hear new material.
So happy seeing DEV after so many years! She looks amazing as a Blonde and she’s back! You might remember her for #1 Smash “LIKE A G6“, plus hits “IN THE DARK” and “BASS DOWN LOW“. It’s been years as well since we’ve seen her, and we’ve missed her Music!
Some Snaps from today and over the years:
So curious to see if they’ll be bringing back their annual 90s NOSTALGIA show again this Fall. We had so much fun last year! More on that here.

The ’90s NOSTALGIA TOUR is back in Vaughan once again this weekend after a brief hiatus last year! The three-day Music Festival set to take place in the parking lot of IMPROVE Canada, brings back some ’90s to early ‘2000s Pop Music legends, giving fans a rare opportunity to see them up close!
Musical Acts like Ludacris, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Aqua, Jenny from Ace of Base, Whigfield, Vengaboys, S Club Party and several more are set to take the stage, delighting their fans in this stopoff of their cross-Canada Tour which has had installments in St. Johns, Abbotsford, Winnipeg and more!
The three-day line-up includes:
Note: Haddaway and Eiffel 65 no longer will able to attend the Festival.
The outdoor event will be taking into consideration safety protocols in providing as safe an experience as possible for attendees. There will be bars, merch booths and food trucks set-up as well!
We were so lucky to spot some of Saturday’s stars arriving, and our teen self is freaking out!
VENGABOYS – one of the most success Dutch groups of all time known for international smash hits “We Like to Party”, “Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!” Original members Kim Sasabone and Denise Post-Van Rijswijk are joined by Robin Pors and Donny Latupeirissa.
AQUA – In 1997 it was impossible to avoid the incredible cultural impact of satirical Pop Jam, “Barbie Girl” thanks to this Danish supergroup! Original members Lene Nystrøm, René Dif and Søren Rasted still are all together! Coincidentally today is the 25th anniversary of their hit single “Roses are Red“! Happy Anniversary!
WHIGFIELD – I was obsessed with the Track “Saturday Night” in 1994 where it achieved global success as a huge hit! “Another Day” and “Think of You” also achieved pop greatness throughout Europe. While Whigfield was born in Denmark, she was and still is based out of Italy.
JENNY BERGGREN OF ACE OF BASE – While Ace of Base has continued to tour in recent years in different incarnations and different members. it is Berggren‘s vocals which win our hearts on pinnacle Pop Classics like “Beautiful Life”, “All That She Wants” and “The Sign”! So thrilled the Swedish Chanteuse is gracing us with her presence.
About ten years ago, we were privileged to meet Ulf Ekberg and Jonas Berggren from the original Ace of Base lineup.
2 UNLIMITED – This Dutch Dance Act, fronted by Rapper Ray Slijngaard, to this day are heard widely, their high energetic bops like “Get Ready For This”, “Twilight Zone” and “No Limits” used as hype songs to get audiences pumped-up at sporting events. Even on his own, it is a treat to see Ray here!
SIMONE DENNY – Toronto-based Dance Act LOVE INC. were a staple on MuchMusic in the ’90s, especially their signature “You’re a Superstar“, but this Frontwoman has continued to enjoy success as a solo act. She is responsible for the iconic “All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)”, theme from QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY.
While we hoped to make it out for the amazing Saturday line-up, we were unable to make it out sadly. Rain however, could not hold us back from having some fun Sunday night. While Ja Rule’s last-minute cancellation left Ashanti having to re-configure her portion of the show to a full set, Toronto’s Kardinal Offishall was more than happy to extend his set a bit further to accommodate. Friends Choclair, Glenn Lewis (in fedora below) and Rascalz even joined him on-stage. Kardinal donned orange as a tribute to Canada’s Indigenous.
Ashanti, looking and sounding even better than she did 20 years ago, delivered a phenomenal set of her hits, braving the rain, and still was able to perform her collaborations with Ja Rule without him physically being there. She tells the audience she soon will be inducted on the Walk of Fame!
By the time Ludacris had hit the stage around 11:30 PM – yes the party went on late – the crowd already had been worked-up with the rain continuing to pour. The Rap legend delivered a spirited set spanning his catalog of hits and told the audience he almost didn’t make it past the border, but alas he delivered the goods as the evening’s main headliner!

The 90’s Nostalgia Tour took over Vaughan this weekend, just north of the City. The Festival at Interchange Park, brought out fan favourites Right Said Fred, Vengaboys, Prozzak, Aqua and S Club for a one night only dance affair.
Simon Fuller, the same man behind American Idol and Spice Girls, formed S Club 7 back in the late ’90s and they became a household name with hit Television Shows Miami 7 and L.A. 7. They also saw international success with 10 million albums sold, a U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten hit, four UK number one hits and a number one album in the UK as well, plus winning two prestigious BRIT Awards. Two in a Million, S Club Party and Never Had a Dream Come True garnered them chart success internationally. Although some of the members have moved on, members Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh and Jo O’Meara still are keeping the legacy alive touring as a Trio and fans at the ‘90s Nostalgia Tour were lucky enough to catch them in a rare appearance in these parts!
We were lucky enough to meet S Club and there were amazingly-nice, offering handshakes and hugs despite being on a bit of a time crunch having just done an appearance last night in the UK and operating on a few hours of sleep.
See our Snap:
Aqua was given the headlining spot, capping off the night of nostalgia best-selling Danish Pop Band of all time with 33 million albums sold, now is a Trio consisting of René Dif, Søren Rasted and lead Vocalist, Lene Nystrøm. Around the World, Doctor Jones and of course Barbie Girl were impossible to avoid in the late ’90s and we’ve missed them! Travelling as a sizable entourage, Nystrøm tells us she was a bit down about some obstacles with her performance which saw her donning a green wig. She says, “Some are good and some are bad” and she was happy as long as the fans enjoyed it. Completely gracious and lovely.
In case you missed the Show, here’s more on it!
