#REVIEW: “JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS”
It was impossible to ignore some of the harsh criticism that Jon Chu's Jem & The Holograms received when footage first surfaced. There even was a hashtag expressing dissatisfaction how it is so little like the iconic 80s animated series on which it is based. #JemandtheHologramsFail, they called it.
The much-talked-about Film Adaptation admittedly isn't great. Despite its best attempts not-so-subtlely to pay homage to the series it is based upon - literally characters recite lines from ...

#REVIEW: “THE LAST WITCH HUNTER”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Breck Eisner (Sahara, The Crazies) returns to the directors chair with an all star cast behind him in the new Vin Diesel-driven vehicle, The Last Witch Hunter. The Movie itself is all kinds of crazy and ridiculous, but Diesel appears to be having an absolute blast with something that’s refreshingly not Fast and the Furious. The Movie albeit predictable is still entertaining, with a gust of laughter following the one-liners.
The Last Witch Hunter ...

#REVIEW: “ROCK THE KASBAH”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Director Barry Levinson returns to comedy after his stint in drama with the Bill Murray lead Rock The Kasbah. The Movie which at times has a few laughs, comes off as something completely different as it devolves into what can easily fall under "offensive" territory. However, the Movie is saved by yet another great performance from Murray, who manages to steal the show with pure charisma.
Rock the Kasbah centers on a down-on-his-luck Music ...

#REVIEW: “GOOSEBUMPS”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
When adapting a franchise as impacting as the Goosebumps series, there is a lot of room for things to go wrong, such as over-crowded twists and too many characters. Thankfully in Rob Letterman’s Film adaptation, it manages to overcome these obstacles with great, focused storytelling.
The Movie starts off with Zach (Dylan Minnette) moving to the town of Madison with hesitation along with his mother Gale (Amy Ryan). Shortly after moving into ...

#REVIEW: “STEVE JOBS”
Review by Siobhán Finn for Mr. Will Wong
(In the interest of full disclosure, prior to working on this review an iPhone 6 was silenced, an iPod Classic was set to shuffle in its iHome, and a Macbook was booted up.)
Readers, Torontonians, countrymen lend me your ears; director Danny Boyle comes to bury Steve Jobs, not to praise him. Indeed Boyle’s latest Film doesn’t shy away from highlighting the flaws of its titular character and in doing so shines a light on the man often overlooked ...

#REVIEW: “MEET THE PATELS”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Meet the Patels is the perfect documentary for people who tend not to like documentaries as well as fans of the medium. This is because the Film does not come off a way that feels like a Documentary; rather that it projects itself as a self-finding romantic comedy. It is incredibly funny and self-aware, as it should be, but does not feel exploitative or redundant as it tells the story of nearly 30-year-old Ravi Patel on his mission to find love.
Ravi ...
