#REVIEW: “HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Drac, Frank, Mavis, Johnny and the rest of the crew are back for Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation and this time things get personal. The Movie which sees Writer/Director/Voice Actor Genndy Taratovsky return also, is a total blast. Even if you don’t have the privilege of taking a vacation this summer, this is a perfect escape for the day!
The Movie starts approximately a century in the past where we meet Van Helsing (Jim Gaffigan) in his numerous failed attempts to take down Dracula (Adam Sandler), Frank (Kevin James), Wayne (Steve Buschemi), Murray (Keegan Michael-Key) and Blobby (Genndy Taratovsky). Fast-forward to the future where Mavis (Selena Gomez) is hoping for her dad to be able to relax and finally go on a vacation for himself instead of always planning everyone else’s. What better way to relax than a cruise to the Bermuda Triangle? What possibly could go wrong?
Upon arriving at the cruise, the whole gang and the rest of the monsters meet the ship’s captain Ericka (Kathryn Hahn), whom everyone takes to, except Mavis who is suspicious of her.
Hotel Transylvania 3 is as fun and enjoyable as the first entry in the Franchise, proving better than the second, and gives audiences a fresh new take on this family of lovable monsters, while simultaneously giving audiences a real villain. The entire Cast brings their A-game, while newcomer Hahn is a delight in every scene, switching between her two lives – a life that is expected of her and the life she chooses to live. Sandler, Spade, Buschemi, James, Gomez, Brooks and Samberg all seem to be having an amazing time with the Franchise, delivering zingers and charisma time and again.
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is a delight for the whole family. Kids will absolutely adore the Film, while adults will be pleasantly surprised by how much fun they’ll have!
Sony Pictures Canada release Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation in theatres on Friday July 13, 2018.
