Great news SUBWAY® Fans! Tuesday, October 11, 2016 – the day after Thanksgiving – marks the launch of something delicious and new at your favourite Sandwich purveyor! Carved Turkey will be introduced as a new menu option nationwide and best of all, it’s homegrown and raised Canadian Turkey!
A select group of influencers were whisked away on a serene, stress-free getaway to Country Apple Orchard Farm in King City where we got to preview firsthand the new Carved Turkey compliments of Executive Chef Chris Martone. The hearty protein, reminiscent of a day-after-Thanksgiving sandwich, was paired perfectly with a Cranberry Mustard sauce. We also got to try new beverage option IZZE, a sparkling juice with no sugar added, plus SUBWAY®’s scrumptious new Apple Pie Cookies!
Rachelle Brown of the Turkey Farmers of Canada told us, “Turkey normally is thought of as for celebrations, but we’re about to change that! It can be something eaten every day!”.
We had a little fun afterward picking apples. Roman of Country Apple Orchard Farm kindly differentiated a few types of apples for us. Macintosh we learned are perfect for baking, while Portland are great for apple sauce. Our favourite, Spartan are sweet enough to be eaten. We stocked-up and made Apple Pie, which was perfectly tart and sweet!
