Transcen|Dance Project present Ophis (Greek for Serpent), running from April 4-13, 2025, at The Great Hall in Toronto, reimagines the myth of Medusa through a seductive and powerful lens. Guests are invited to don masks and roam the four levels of The Great Hall, each offering a unique, interactive experience that immerses the audience in the myth of Medusa, culminating in a bold and unexpected ending.
In this daring retelling, Medusa is no longer a victim of a curse but a symbol of empowerment and resilience. Audiences will journey through love, vulnerability, and self-discovery while exploring themes of power, transformation, and sexuality. This production challenges traditional narratives with a modern twist and invites viewers to confront identity and power dynamics.
