Netflix has renewed Cobra Kai, the series continuation of the iconic The Karate Kid film franchise, for a sixth and final season. In an open letter to the fans, Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg share news about the series conclusion.

• Cobra Kai takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).
• Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Westbrook Entertainment along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka also serve as executive producers.

You know how much I adore Netflix‘s BLING EMPIRE, so for the mic to be dropped at the end of Season Three that an upcoming New York-set Series is on the way, left me in agony that there would be a wait for this!

We met Socialite Dorothy Wang in Season Two of the Los Angeles-set branch of the Series. Finally Kane Lim has met his match, and it seems everybody loves him. Dorothy has never cared for his friendship, despite his insistent hopes to win her approval. We were so intrigued by her and now she’s off to begin a new life in New York, single and ready to mingle with a new pool of potential love interests after purchasing a gorgeous new loft apartment in the City. She doesn’t really know anyone here and neither do we! We meet some really interesting new characters to the mix, all well-to-do Socialites including Social Media Fashion Influencer Tina Leung; Tycoon and Model Power Couple Stephen & Deborah Hung; Wellness industry executive Richard Chang and his girlfriend Vika; Jewellery Major Player Lynn Ban and husband Jett Kain; plus also aspiring Actor Blake Abbie.

If you’re looking for dueling Queen Bee energy like the Los Angeles branch of the series, there isn’t so much of that here but there certainly is a bit of drama. For one, the ladies and Blake seem to disapprove of the way Richard treats Vika, medalling in their love life. What this new Series manages to capture well is the bond between this group of friends who in are just getting to know each other and Dororthy is our eyes into this new world, while she too is trying to just fit in and find love herself.

This Series goes a layer deeper exploring some past traumas some of the Cast are copying with and we even witness a panic attack unfold live. The Series seems to hint at some trouble brewing between Lynn and Jett after 26 years together as the latter expresses some interest in wanting to do his own thing after supporting Lynn all these years in her venture. And Blake who prefers to avoid labelling his sexuality, is copying with cultural pressure to continue his family’s legacy, while coping with the loss of his father. So the themes here in this New York spinoff are a bit darker, drawing the audience in further. While it doesn’t have the same shiny veneer its predecessor does, BLING EMPIRE: NEW YORK all the same explores what a combination of privielege and Asian heritage and cultural values mean to this fascinating group of people. It tooks a bit to hit its best stride, but it gets there and we’re ready for a Season Two.

Ed Sheeran does a powerful tribute dedicated to his late friend Jamal Edwards.

Filmed at night at an empty Stamford Bridge, with Jamal’s name spelled out in the stands behind him – home of Chelsea FC, of whom Jamal was a lifelong fan – Ed’s 64-bar freestyle is fuelled by raw emotion, as Ed details the deep grief he’s experienced since losing his best friend last year.

CBC today revealed the ten elite artists from Canada and abroad, who will compete in the upcoming second season of BEST IN MINIATURE (8×60), premiering Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 7 p.m. (7:30 NT) on CBC TV and the free CBC Gem streaming service. 

This season, the miniaturists will go to epic lengths to create their ultimate tiny home, one pocket-sized room at a time. The competition will push them to create detailed masterpieces under a ticking clock. While the goal is to make it mini, the competition is huge, as these highly skilled artists fight for prizes and advantages in every episode. Each week one miniaturist will be sent home, while the others continue to compete for the $15,000 grand prize. 

Actress and stand-up comedian Aba Amuquandoh returns as host, alongside judges, UK miniature expert Emma Waddell, and esteemed Canadian interior designer and entrepreneur Michael Lambie.

Apple TV+ today announced that its comedy sensation “Ted Lasso” will return for its highly anticipated third season this spring 2023 and unveiled a first-look at the new season providing a taste of what’s in-store for AFC Richmond.

The second season of “Ted Lasso” recently broke records by becoming the most Emmy-winning comedy for the second year in a row with four total wins, including Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Jason Sudeikis), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Brett Goldstein), and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (MJ Delaney). With back-to-back wins for Outstanding Comedy Series, the series now joins the ranks of only seven other comedy series in history that have landed Outstanding Comedy Series wins in their first two years: “Modern Family,” “30 Rock,” “Frasier,” “The Golden Girls,” “Cheers,” “All in the Family” and “The Phil Silvers Show.”

After its global debut on Apple TV+, “Ted Lasso” quickly earned praise and acclaim with season one becoming the most Emmy-nominated freshman comedy series in history, landing top honours and awards. On the heels of the season finale of Lucasfilm’s all-new action-adventure series “Willow” based on George Lucas’ fantasy-adventure film, Disney+ has set a January 25, 2023 premiere date for the debut of its original documentary special, “Willow: Behind the Magic.” Featuring the series’ breakout stars and returning legends, the documentary takes viewers behind the scenes for an in-depth look at the making of the hit original series, which debuted on Disney+ November 30, 2022.

The story of “Willow” began when an aspiring sorcerer, played by Warwick Davis, is whisked away on a journey to protect an infant empress Elora Danan and vanquish the evil Queen Bavmorda from their world of Andowyne. Now, the story continues with Davis reprising his titular role as he leads an unlikely crew of heroes – which includes a now-grown Elora, who has just learned of her prodigious birthright – on a quest to protect Andowyne from an even larger foe than they had imagined possible. “Willow” also stars Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha-Patel, Dempsey Bryk, and Joanne Whalley. Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Jonathan Kasdan, Tommy Harper, Wendy Mericle, Roopesh Parekh, Ron Howard, and Samie Kim Falvey serve as executive producers.
