The major broadcasters and streaming services will also be dreaming with us by programming a treasure trove of Canadian films to enjoy at home. Now, we’re introducing real-time voting, a new way to be a part of the live events you love. When you tune in live for select titles like Star Search, premiering today at 6pm PT/9pm ET, you’ll be able to use this interactive feature to place your vote alongside millions of others as the episode unfolds around the world.

Building on their must-watch winter lineups, W Network and Showcase have added The ‘Burbs and Ted, Season 2 to their respective schedules. The full season of The ‘Burbs will be available to stream Sunday, February 8 on STACKTV ahead of the broadcast premiere on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on W Network rolling out with two episodes for the first two weeks followed by one episode weekly. Meanwhile, Ted returns for Season 2 on Thursday, March 5 at 9 p.m. ET on Showcase and is also available to stream on STACKTV.

Inspired by the 1989 horror-comedy film of the same name and set in present-day suburbia, The ‘Burbs follows a young couple (Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall) who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when a new neighbour moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighbourhood. The ‘Burbs also stars Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar.

Celeste Hughey serves as creator, writer, and executive producer of the series. Writer/executive producer Rachel Shukert is also joined by executive producers Keke Palmer; Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Aimee Carlson (for Fuzzy Door); Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, Natalie Berkus (for Imagine Entertainment); and Nzingha Stewart, who also directs. The ‘Burbs is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The hit comedic prequel series to the Ted films takes place in the ’90s. It’s 1994, and senior year of high school is underway for Ted (Seth MacFarlane) the foul-mouthed teddy bear and his best friend, likable but awkward John Bennett (Max Burkholder). Together they live in a working-class Boston home with John’s parents Matty and Susan and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Matty (Scott Grimes) is a blustering, blue-collar Bostonian who sees himself as the unequivocal boss of the house and doesn’t like anyone challenging him, particularly his liberal-minded niece. Susan (Alanna Ubach) is kind, selfless, and almost pathologically sweet when it comes to caring for her family. Blaire is an outspoken college student who often finds herself at odds with her more traditional-minded relatives.

Seth MacFarlane serves as executive producer, writer, director, and co-showrunner. Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh also serve as executive producers, writers, and co-showrunners. Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Jason Clark, Aimee Carlson (Fuzzy Door) are executive producers. Ted is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, Fuzzy Door, and MRC.

CBC and the Toronto Star today announced the first-ever partnership between two hit investigative crime podcast series, CBC’s Uncover and the Toronto Star’s Suspicion. The new untitled podcast tells the story of Canadian Olympic snowboarder turned FBI Most Wanted fugitive and alleged drug lord Ryan Wedding. Hosted by Michelle Shephard with Toronto Star reporter Calvi Leon, the podcast features new on-the-ground reporting and original interviews, and will be released in fall 2026 on both CBC’s Uncover and the Star’s Suspicion feeds, everywhere podcasts are available. 

CBC previously announced an original documentary series titled Snow King: From Olympian to Narco about Wedding, which also features Leon’s investigative work for the Toronto Star alongside journalist Jesse Hyde’s in-depth reporting for Rolling Stone. Produced by Visitor Media, the two-part docuseries is in production now and will also debut in fall 2026.

In this new podcast from CBC and the Toronto Star, host Shephard and reporter Leon trace Wedding’s descent into a violent criminal underworld. From his beginnings as a bouncer in Vancouver, to Toronto and the scenes of the shocking murders he’s accused of ordering, to Mexico where he’s believed to be hiding under the protection of the notorious Sinaloa Cartel, they uncover his illicit connections and the stories behind the victims caught in the crossfire. The Star’s Leon has traced the story’s network of sicarios, special agents, innocents and inside men.

An investigation into one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, this podcast exposes how a small town Canadian boy allegedly became a narco kingpin and asks: what will it take to bring him to justice?

One of the most influential figures in late-night television, Letterman will appear at the 10th edition of Just For Laughs VANCOUVER with “An Evening with David Letterman and Special Guest Zach Galifianakis,” a very special in-conversation event between two extraordinary comedy legends, on February 18, 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

David Letterman
Over 33 years on late-night television, David Letterman was the longest-running late-night broadcaster in American history. As a writer, performer, and producer, Letterman is one of the most-nominated individuals in Emmy Award history, with 52 nominations, resulting in 10 wins. Letterman is also a two-time Peabody-Award winner and a Kennedy Center Honoree. Letterman produced the Disney+ docu-special, Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming, with Dave Letterman (2023). Letterman can currently be seen hosting My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, the Emmy-winning interview show streaming on Netflix, featuring guests including Barack Obama, Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, JAY-Z, Robert Downey Jr., Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Dave Chappelle, Miley Cyrus, Caitlin Clark, Billie Eilish, and Adam Sandler.

Zach Galifianakis
After failing his last college course by one point at North Carolina State University, Zach Galifianakis moved to New York City. He got his start performing his brand of humour in the back of a hamburger joint in Times Square, graduating to doing stand-up in nightclubs and coffee houses across the city. While working as a busboy, he got his first acting job on the sitcom “Boston Common.” An eclectic career has followed.

Zach is most well-known from THE HANGOVER trilogy with additional credits including THE CAMPAIGN, DUE DATE, IT’S A FUNNY KIND OF STORY, DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS, INTO THE WILD and THE BEANIE BUBBLE. Feature animation credits include G-FORCE, RON’S GONE WRONG and most recently LILO AND STITCH. Zach created the critically-acclaimed series “Baskets,” which garnered him an Emmy nomination, and starred in the comedy “Bored to Death.” He also hosted the VH1 talk show “Late World With Zach,” as well as wrote and starred in “Dog Bites Man” for Comedy Central. He hosted the Emmy-winning internet talk show “Between Two Ferns” on which he interviewed such guests as President Barack Obama, Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Natalie Portman, Conan O’Brien and Justin Bieber.

Zach recurred on season four of “Only Murders in the Building” and next up will be seen in the dark comedy thriller, THE GALLERIST, which will premiere at Sundance this year. He also recently completed production on the upcoming AMC series, THE AUDACITY, as well as the Taika Waititi pilot VERY YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN for FX as ‘Dr. Frankenstein.’
