Today, Prime Video debuted the first-look images for its groundbreaking new series, Spider-Noir, starring Nicolas Cage in his first leading television role, which will premiere worldwide Spring 2026. Produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video, the hotly anticipated series will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear broadcast channel, then globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories thereafter. For a special and unique viewing experience, Spider-Noir will be available to stream two ways, in “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color” for audiences to choose their own journey to watch.

The first-look images give audiences a special peek into the world of Spider-Noir as the below characters are introduced.

Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage) – Back in the day, Ben Reilly was the superhero known as “The Spider”. After a personal tragedy, he stepped away from his heroic alter ego. Only an extraordinary case could call this down-on-his-luck private investigator to drop the ordinary man act and put his mask back on.

Robbie Robertson (Lamorne Morris) – A dedicated journalist trying to make it in 1930s New York with the odds stacked against him. He is willing to do whatever is necessary for his career as well as his best friend, Ben.

Cat Hardy (Li Jun Li) – The star attraction at the premiere nightclub in New York. It may seem like she is always looking out for herself, but the truth is more complex than meets the eye.

Janet (Karen Rodriguez) – Smart, scrappy, and loyal secretary to Ben Reilly. She wants to help her boss and his small business become successful, and she has zero problem speaking truth to power.

Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic “Spider-Man Noir”. Spider-Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.

Today, Netflix released the official trailer for the second season of the hit series ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line, coming to Netflix on March 10. The official trailer was accompanied by new images and a personally penned letter from Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the global phenomenon.

Aburi Sushi, located inside Waterworks Food Hall (50 Brant Street), will celebrate Lunar New Year on February 17 with a one-night-only Shabu Shabu tasting experience, offering guests a nine-course menu curated exclusively for the occasion. As part of the MICHELIN-starred Aburi group of restaurants, the team here designed the menu to highlight premium seasonal ingredients and Japanese culinary techniques. The limited-seating event will be offered at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with tickets priced at $125 per person plus tax and gratuity, available by reservation HERE.

The evening will begin with Toro Monaka, followed by an Aburi Sashimi Duo featuring maguro and hamachi. The centrepiece of the experience will be the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and Oyster Shabu Shabu, gently simmered in a miso soy milk broth and paired with seasonal winter vegetables. Along with other bites on the tasting menu, this celebratory experience concludes with a light Ginger Panna Cotta dessert.

The Canadian Film Fest (CFF) is pleased to announce the return of the You-CAN Pitch Competition for the second consecutive year. This initiative provides Black Canadian filmmakers with the opportunity to pitch their projects to a panel of industry experts and receive valuable feedback and mentorship to advance their careers. Aiming to support the next generation of filmmakers, the competition is open to both individuals and teams, with up to five finalists invited to take part in an exclusive in-person pitch session. Applications are now open here, and the deadline for submission is Sunday February 22nd, 2026 at 11:59 p.m EST.

The You-CAN Pitch Competition will offer finalists a chance to present their narrative feature film project to a panel of experienced industry professionals, who will provide constructive insights and guidance to help elevate their creative visions. Afterwards, they will engage in organized meetings with select panelists for further discussions and networking opportunities. There will also be virtual mentorship sessions and one-on-one practice opportunities prior to the pitch presentation, where participants will be able to hone their skills and practice with a mentor.

The selected finalists will receive CFF passes and access to the festival’s industry events and networking opportunities. The winner of the competition will receive over $35,000 of in-kind, career- building prizes to help them develop their feature film.

Guilty of Streaming Cheating? You’re Not Alone, According to New Survey

Love may be in the air thanks to new films and series like People We Meet on Vacation and Bridgerton
Season 4, but so is streaming “cheating,” and it’s more common than many Canadians might like to admit. According to Enterprise Canada’s latest poll, nearly one-quarter of Canadians with Netflix (27%) admit they’ve secretly watched a movie or show alone that they had promised to watch with their partner. Turns out this secretive habit is especially popular among Millennials and Gen Z (38%).

And most never fess up to the crime. Most streaming cheaters are playing a long game, with
six in 10 (61%) saying they concealed it and later watched the same movie or show again with their partner. When it comes to titles full of twists and turns, like the new film The Rip or the latest limited series His & Hers, it may help to see every plot point unfold all over again!

“Watching a Netflix show or movie as a couple can be a meaningful way to build intimacy and share quality time together no matter if you’re newly dating or have been married for years. It’s a modern love language,” says Shannon Tebb, Toronto’s boutique Matchmaker and Dating Expert. “When you secretly watch ahead without your partner – something nearly a quarter of Canadians with Netflix admit
to doing – it can feel harmless, but it may leave your partner feeling left out and trigger feelings of mistrust or even betrayal.”

Streaming cheating cuts across the board with women (27%) and men (26%) admitting to sneaking ahead of their partner at nearly identical rates, proving anyone is just as likely to press play behind their significant other’s back.

Still, Netflix is far from a solo experience for most couples. Among Canadians with a romantic partner, 67% say they actually prefer to watch Netflix together rather than separately. Because dissecting the ending to Stranger Things or Harlan Coben’s latest mystery is always better together.

Three in four (74%) Canadians say they generally agree with their partner about what to watch on Netflix, though 29% admit their partner has forced them to watch something they would have otherwise skipped. Only 19% regularly disagree over what to watch with their better half.

So, whether you’re a faithful co-watcher or a sneaky episode-binger, just remember, love may be blind but streaming history isn’t. (And don’t forget to save the date — Season 10 of Love
is Blind will be available on Netflix on February 11, 2026!)
