Why is it every time an Asian-American Sitcom launches, it fails? Â Okay, we admit there was only one said Asian-American Sitcom – that being 1994’s ALL-AMERICAN GIRL – but this upcoming Series FRESH OFF THE BOAT looks somewhat promising. Â Based on Chef Eddie Wong‘s Memoir Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir, the ABC Series looks to premiere Fall 2014 Mid-season. Â Told much in a similar voice as Chris Rock‘s Everybody Hates Chris, the Series centers on a Chinese-American Family as they move to Orlando, with the hopes of opening an American-style Restaurant. Â Based on its Trailer, it looks to get much of its jokes from East versus West humour, and the Asian-American Child’s struggle to “fit in”.
Constance Wu‘s humidity-hating Jessica is channeling some serious Asian Sofia Vergara, right?
