#BOXOFFICE: “WEAPONS” FIRES A FOURTH STRAIGHT WEEK IN TOP SPOT

For a fourth straight week, WEAPONS continues to fire at the Box Office, taking $13 million from 3,416 theatres for Warner Bros. Note, these are Friday through Labour Day numbers and projections. This takes it to $135 million domestically. What a run these past few months have been for the studio, including smashes F1, MINECRAFT, SUPERMAN and SINNERS!

The 50th anniversary re-release of JAWS registers in second with $9.7 million from 3,200 theatres for Universal Pictures. The 1975 film prior had grossed $477 million worldwide.

CAUGHT STEALING debuts in third with $9.5 million from 3,578 theatres for Sony Pictures. Starring Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz, this latest from Darren Aronofsky gets 85% on the Tomatometer.

FREAKIER FRIDAY continues to engine-on in third with $8 million, a run of $82 million for Disney in North America.

THE ROSES debuts in fifth with $7.5 million from 2,700 theatres and a 63% Tomatometer score for 20th Century Studios. This is an updated adaptation of the book THE WAR OF THE ROSES, which also was made into a film in 1989.

While it didn’t get a weekend run, noteworthy this week was KPOP DEMON HUNTERS SINGALONG pulling-in a stellar $19 million from a limited two-day run at the Box Office for Netflix! An incredible showing for this smash success Animated Feature (with a 97% score on the Tomatometer nonetheless) by the streaming giant.

#BOXOFFICE: “WEAPONS” ON-TOP A THIRD WEEK

WEAPONS is on-top a third week with $15 million this weekend from 3,631 theatres for Warner Bros. This brings its domestic run to $115.2 million already.

Second is FREAKIER FRIDAY with $9 million, a total $70.3 million grossed over three weekends for Disney.

FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS is third with $5.8 million, a tally of $257.1 million over five weeks for Disney.

THE BAD GUYS 2 lands in fourth with $5.1 million for Universal Pictures, a run of $66.1 million to date.

NOBODY 2 rounds things off with $3.5 million, a total $16.3 million over two weekends for Universal Pictures.

#BOXOFFICE: “WEAPONS” FIRES IN DEBUT

WEAPONS fires in its debut this weekend, taking $35 million from 3,202 theatres for Warner Bros. This Horror gets a stellar 96% on the Tomatometer. This is from the same Director, Zach Cregger, who brought us BARBARIAN.

FREAKIER FRIDAY is a smash, taking $30 million from 3,975 theatres for Disney. It gets a respectable 73% on the Tomatometer. Its predecessor also was a success, with a $22 million debut back in 2003.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: THE FIRST STEPS gets third this weekend with $16 million, taking it to $231 million for Disney over three weekends.

THE BAD GUYS 2 gets $10.5 million in its second weekend, bringing it to $43.5 million for Universal Pictures.

THE NAKED GUN rounds-out a weapon-bookended Top Five with $7.5 million, a two-week run of $32.7 million for Paramount Pictures.
