#FIRSTLOOK: NEW TRAILER FOR “REVELATIONS”

ABOUT THE FILM | One day, a young member of the church vanishes without a trace. The prime suspect is Yang-rae, an ex-convict who recently visited the church. Min-chan, the pastor, is convinced that a divine revelation has called him to pursue and punish Yang-rae, while Yeon-hui, a police detective haunted by her dead sister’s shadow, is assigned to the case. As she investigates the case, she begins to suspect a disturbing connection between Min-chan and Yang-rae and follows their steps.

Director Yeon Sang-ho, known for posing sharp questions about human nature through his work, explores the fine lines between religion and humanity, faith and beliefs, and good and evil in Revelations. Ryu Jun-yeol (The 8 Show, The Night Owl) plays the divinely guided pastor Min-chan, Shin Hyun-been (Reborn Rich, Hospital Playlist) plays Yeon-hui, the police detective tormented by the shadow of her dead sister who was a victim of a heinous crime, and Shin Min-jae (Parasyte: The Grey) plays the role of ex-convict Yang-rae. Revelations is Director Yeon Sang-ho’s second collaboration with writer Choi Gyu-seok after the Netflix series Hellbound, with Alfonso Cuarón, the acclaimed director of ROMA and Gravity, serving as executive producer.

For Executive Producer Alfonso Cuarón, the film’s story is universal. “I have a strong belief that cinema transcends borders, transcends languages, and there’s nothing richer than a film that speaks about a very specific social context that is translated through the world because we have a shared humanity. It doesn’t matter which culture you come from, which religion you practice, which language you speak – human nature is one and the same, and it’s so great to connect each other through cinema.”
