#FIRSTLOOK: “UNDER SALT MARSH” AND “KING & CONQUEROR” ARRIVE THIS APRIL ON STACKTV AND SHOWCASE

This April on Showcase and STACKTV audiences will be captivated by two new bold series Under Salt Marsh premiering Tuesday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET followed by King & Conqueror debuting Thursday, April 30 at 9 p.m. ET.

Under Salt Marsh is a gripping crime drama set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen, a tight-knit community precariously nestled between towering mountains and a fast-encroaching sea that threatens its very existence. As a storm begins to gather far out at sea, former detective turned teacher, Jackie Ellis (Kelly Reilly), makes a shocking discovery that reopens the wounds of a three-year-old cold case which cost her both her career and her family’s trust. Forced to reunite with her estranged police partner Eric Bull (Rafe Spall), Jackie is drawn back into an investigation that will shake Morfa Halen to its core. An intimate and cinematic story, Under Salt Marsh takes audiences into the heart of a community bound by nature and fractured by an unthinkable crime.

King & Conqueror is the story of a clash that defined the future of a country – and a continent – for a thousand years, the roots of which stretch back decades and extend out through a pair of interconnected family dynasties, struggling for power across two countries and a raging sea. Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; two allies with no design on the English throne, who found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of the crown.

The series stars James Norton as Harold, Earl of Wessex, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as William, Duke of Normandy, Emily Beecham as Edith Swan-neck and Clémence Poésy as Matilda. The ensemble cast also features Eddie Marsan as King Edward, Juliet Stevenson as Lady Emma, Jean-Marc Barr as King Henry, Luther Ford as Tostig, Geoff Bell as Godwin, Elliott Cowan as Sweyn, Bo Bragason as Queen Gunhild, Bjarne Henriksen as Earl Siward, Oliver Masucci as Baldwin, Clare Holman as Gytha, Elander Moore as Morcar, Indy Lewis as Margaret, Jason Forbes as Thane Thomas, Ingvar Sigurdsson as Fitzosbern, Ines Asserson as Judith, Sveinn Ólafur Gunnarsson as Hardrada and Léo Legrand as Odo.
