#FIRSTLOOK: “KILL JACKIE” COMING TO PRIME VIDEO CANADA IN 2026

Prime Video has released a first look from the highly anticipated revenge thriller series Kill Jackie starring Oscar, BAFTA and Tony Award winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, Wednesday), and based on the acclaimed novel The Price You Pay by Sunday Times best-selling author Nick Harkaway, writing as Aidan Truhen (Karla’s Choice, Tigerman).

The first look shot reveals Zeta-Jones as Jackie Price, the glamorous art dealer whose lethal past as an international drug smuggler resurfaces when a squad of the world’s most terrifying assassins, The Seven Demons, come after her.

The image gives audiences their first glimpse of the series’ striking style and high-octane world.

Jackie Price has been living a wealthy, luxurious existence for the last twenty years – travelling the world, selling fine art using sophisticated tax loopholes and, above all, trying to stay anonymous after escaping a dangerous past as an international drug smuggler. But just as life starts to feel a little boring, it takes a sudden lethal turn when she discovers The Seven Demons, a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen, have been hired to kill her. Assuming someone from her past is behind it, Jackie unleashes her old instincts and embarks on a wild, dangerous game plan: to take down The Demons one by one before they kill her. However, she soon realizes her own demons are much more terrifying than the ruthless killers on her trail… and her buried secrets ultimately lead her much closer to home, with surprising consequences.

From the creatives behind Killing Eve and Gangs of London, Kill Jackie is an eight-part series co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures and co-created by Conor Keane, Tom Butterworth, Peter Lawson and Damon Thomas. The Executive Producers are Peter Lawson and Jose Augustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures, Tom Butterworth, Damon Thomas, Catherine Zeta-Jones with Dante Di Loreto and Jeffrey Levine. The lead Director is Damon Thomas (Killing Eve) with writer and showrunner Tom Butterworth (Gangs of London). Conor Keane co-wrote the TV adaptation and is associate producer. Nick Harkaway serves as executive consultant on the series. José Luis Escolar’s Deabru Kalea Filmeak is supervising production in Bizkaia. The series will be available on Prime Video in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Canada next year.

#FIRSTLOOK: NEW TEASER TRAILER FOR “NATIONAL TREASURE: EDGE OF HISTORY”

Just unveiled today at Comic-Con was a new Teaser for NATIONAL TREASURE: EDGE OF HISTORY. A new Teaser Trailer has arrived.

Synopsis:

The series focuses on a young heroine, Jess (Lisette Olivera), a brilliant and resourceful DREAMer who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about her family’s mysterious past and save a lost Pan-American treasure. During the panel, executive producers Cormac and Marianne Wibberley shared their vision for the reboot of the smash hit franchise and how incredibly thrilled they are to showcase this dream cast for the series, which also includes Academy and Tony Award®-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. It was previously announced that Justin Bartha will guest star in the series, reprising his role as Riley Poole.

In addition to Olivera, the series also stars Zuri Reed (“Flatbush Misdemeanors”) as Tasha, Jess’ ride-or-die friend who joins the treasure hunt but is forced to reevaluate her belief system to help her best friend; Antonio Cipriano (“Jagged Little Pill” on Broadway) as Oren, a lovable but self-obsessed goofball with an encyclopedic knowledge of conspiracy theories that attempts to win back Tasha’s affections; Jordan Rodrigues (“Lady Bird”) as Ethan, Jess’ childhood best friend who has loved her since the day they met; Jake Austin Walker (“Rectify”) as Liam, a swoon-worthy struggling musician, with a permanent chip on his shoulder, who comes from a long line of treasure hunters; Catherine Zeta-Jones (“Chicago”) as Billie, a badass billionaire, black-market antiquities expert and treasure hunter who lives by her own code; and Lyndon Smith (“Parenthood”) as FBI Agent Ross, a dogged investigator who begins to realize there’s a greater conspiracy at hand.

#FIRSTLOOK: “SIDE EFFECTS” STARRING ROONEY MARA & CHANNING TATUM

Wow! Nothing like a good Psychological Thriller to throw you off-center. You must watch this brand new Trailer for Side Effects (also known as The Bitter Pill) from Director Steven Soderbergh. Rooney Mara plays Emily, who turns to Prescription Medication to cope with her Husband’s (Channing Tatum) impending release from Prison.  This Trailer is cut so brilliantly that there really is no telling what the deal is here and who’s behind Emily‘s Delusion.  Jude Law and Catherine Zeta- Jones star also.

Is it just me or is Mara channeling some serious Natalie Portman here?

Made for a Budget of $30 million, Side Effects was shot last Spring in New York City and is slated for a February 8, 2013 release via eOne Films in Canada. Looks good.
