#REVIEW: “CHARLIE’S ANGELS”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Hello Angels, I am a product of the early 90s and loved cheesey Action Flicks and the 2000/2003 Charlie’s Angels films were essentially that. However, with Elizabeth Banks behind the camera and penning, she takes what made Charlie’s Angels great, removing the camp and made it a real bona fide badass Action Flick, with some amazing talent, resulting in a genuinely great world-building Feature.
The Movie centres around Elena (Naomi Scott) who is a ...

#REVIEW: “DOCTOR SLEEP”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
“Here’s Johnny!” Unless you grew up watching Johnny Carson on late night, chances are you immediately thought of Jack Nicholson peeking his head through a broken door frame – or you pictured any number of the parodies that followed. That moment and many others from The Shining have been burned into the collective minds of multiple generations. And while the Film inspired multiple readings and theories, we never saw a followup in the nearly ...

#REVIEW: “LAST CHRISTMAS”
Review by Mr. Will Wong
LAST CHRISTMAS aims to taking some tried, tested and true ways at tackling the heartfelt Holiday Rom-Com with a few new angles, but depends perhaps a bit too much on the charm of its stars than the strength of its story.
Kate (Emilia Clarke) just can't help but keep making bad decisions. Practically homeless, she struggles to maintain her job at a Christmas decoration shop owned by Santa (Michelle Yeoh) and also find a real keeper in a boyfriend. She drinks too much, ...

#REVIEW: “MIDWAY”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
MIDWAY opens with a scene of a large number of shirtless men doing calisthenics aboard a naval warship then segues into scenes of sailors filled with bluster, macho-posturing and insults. This when we also meet the main character, the rea-life fighter pilot, Dick Best. As portrayed by Ed Skrein (Game of Thrones, Deadpool), he’s a cocky daredevil who likes to disable his plane on training runs, evoking fear in his flying partner. Then, out of nowhere, ...

#REVIEW: “THE IRISHMAN”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
Martin Scorsese is back with a vengeance. Working from Charles Brandt's book on Frank Sheeran, I Heard You Paint Houses and adapted for the screen by Steven Zaillian (Schindler’s List), this master Director has assembled a triumvirate of actors (one was coaxed from semi-retirement) and created a film of such magnitude that it must be seen and savoured. THE IRISHMAN, with its running time of 210 minutes, may be one of filmdom’s greatest gangster ...

#REVIEW: “ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD” – QUENTIN TARANTINO, LEONARDO DICAPRIO AND BRAD PITT LIVE IN CONVERSATION
By George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
We were thrilled to be invited to attend a special screening of Quentin Tarantino’s latest epic, ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD followed by a live streamed moderated panel discussion with the Director and its stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie.
As always, Tarantino was effervescent and exuberant. His inspiration for making this Movie was that he was making a movie with an older actor (that he would not name) and one day he watched him ...

#REVIEW: “TERMINATOR: DARK FATE”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
Terminator 2: Judgement Day is one of the best and most influential films ever made. Period. And since it came out in 1991, we have had three sequels (and a TV series) that all tried to continue that story of man versus machine. They had their own enjoyable elements, but all paled in comparison – mostly because they were made without the involvement of Director James Cameron nor then breakout star Linda Hamilton.
Enter Terminator: Dark Fate, the new ...

#REVIEW: “MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
“Passion project”. These two words can strike fear in a moviegoer’s gut when they realize a film they are about to see is being labelled as such. In 1999, Oscar-nominated Edward Norton saw the cinematic potential in Jonathan Lethem’s Novel, Motherless Brooklyn, but envisioned its contemporary setting and characters as a period piece set in New York City in the 1950s and make significant plot changes. It is easy to see why Norton was attracted ...
