#REVIEW: “NOW YOU SEE ME”
One-part Thriller, one-part electrifying Spectacle, Now You See Me is the latest effort from Director Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Clash of the Titans). Although some might struggle with a sharp tonal shift after its First Act, what amounts still is an over-the-top Thrill Ride, complete with an on-stage body pile, explosions and of course, some awesome Trickery.
Now You See Me centers on a mixed bag of personalities known as The Four Horsemen - a group of Illusionists who each are a ...

#REVIEW: “STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS”
Review by: Jonathan Godfrey for Mr. Will Wong
Science-Fiction is too often marginalized and made an outpost for Misfits. And yet it is far more than just a frontier for the disenfranchised. It is transcendental. Pop Culture’s breeding ground for Experimental Thinkers and New-Age Philosophers. Take the Brainiac behind Star Trek, the late Gene Roddenberry for an example. Via Goblin Green Babes and Space-Age Battleships, he boldly traversed a galaxy of ideas. J.J. Abrams has followed in his ...

#REVIEW: “THE GREAT GATSBY”
Review by: Jonathan Godfrey for Mr. Will Wong
Life is Poetry, and love is its pen, paper and prose. Few are those that find this out, fewer still are those that write it down. F. Scott Fitzgerald did both, and Baz Luhrmann continues to navigate this binary with poise. Having adapted Romeo + Juliet and written Moulin Rouge!, there is no question that his pen is mighty. Furthermore, his romances were equally as exquisite to the eye and ear, whilst touching the souls of many. His latest Film is ...

#REVIEW: “KON-TIKI”
Based on the true story of Thor Heydal (Pål Sverre Hagen) and his epic Adventure across the Pacific Ocean in 1947, Kon-Tiki recounts his daring Quest to prove the Theory that South Americans could have in fact been able to cross the Waters pre-Columbus, settling in Polynesia. Leaving behind his Wife Liv (Agnes Kittelsen) and two Sons almost without notice, he enlists a Team of five Men to build a Wood Raft, travelling only with materials that could technologically have been ...

#REVIEW: “IRON MAN 3”
Perhaps the most emotional installment of the Franchise thus far, Iron Man 3 delivers a long-overdue focus on the relationship between charismatic Billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and his beloved Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). And it is because of this mutual gender appeal that this just might commercially be the must successful of the three Films to date.
Resurfacing from the past, Dr. Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) seeks to reunite with Pepper. Mesmerized by his drastic physical ...

#REVIEW: “THE WE AND THE I”
After trying his hand at a Blockbuster in The Green Hornet, French-born Writer/Director Michel Gondry focuses back on the Art in his latest Feature, The We and the I. Capturing the essence and aroma of The Bronx perfectly, Gondry takes us on a Bus Ride along with a group of Teenagers on their last day of school.
Tensions get so thick among these Kids, you can almost breathe-in some of that humidity in the air this Summer Day. As each stop passes and they exit one by one, we get a Snapshot of ...

#REVIEW: “TO THE WONDER”
There is no Director more divisive than Terrence Malick. In fact, his 2011 Best Picture Contender Tree of Life is one of the rare instances where I've seen an actual notice posted at the Theatre explaining a "No Refunds" policy to Patrons, his unconventional Filmmaking PRed in unapologetic manner. Clearly, Critics loved it - especially locally with the Toronto Film Critics Association naming it their Best Film. Malick's latest, a Romantic-Drama titled To the Wonder premiered at ...
