#REVIEW: “CAFĂ SOCIETY”
Review by SiobhĂĄn Rich for Mr. Will Wong
There are few figures in Hollywood more divisive than Woody Allen. The Writer/Director has his detractors and they will eagerly line-up to say why they wonât watch his Movies. I begin with this acknowledgement only to highlight why it is important to set aside personal biases and look at a Movie as an individual being separate from whatever history or opinions one may have about its creator. While many aspects of CafĂŠ Society can be paralleled to ...

Later he teamed up with James Wan to stretch his short into a feature, and scare us silly this summer.

#REVIEW: “LIFE, ANIMATED”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
I want to start this review on a more personal note than the other reviews for Hot Docs. I have a brother who suffers from autism and I understand the struggles and hardship associated with it. But I also understand the wrong and terrible stigmas associated with autism as well. There are different levels of autism ranging from high functioning verbal to low functioning non-verbal and my brother falls in the realm of non-verbal and relatively high ...

#REVIEW: “ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS THE MOVIE”
The phenomenon of BBC series AbFab is something that has spread far beyond its unsuspecting roots as a French & Saunders sketch. Lauded for its uncensored brevity, AbFab in many ways has had a cultural impact and the way we see women in Television and Film. After a successful initial run in the early to mid '90s and revivals thereafter, its latest incarnation comes in Film form as an international release, Absolutely Fabulous The Movie. Director Mandie Fletcher returns and Jennifer Saunders ...

#REVIEW: “EQUALS”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
I have been unable to shake or replicate the feeling I had watching Director Drake Doremusâ Like Crazy at TIFF in the fall of 2011. The intimacy and poignancy of the romance at the heart of that Film, brought to life by future Oscar-nominee Felicity Jones and the late Anton Yelchin, was just as beautiful as it was devastating. And thatâs without even mentioning the supporting turn from some up-and-comer named Jennifer Lawrence.
I mention all ...

Years ago, scientists Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) and Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) wrote a book together about the paranormal. Very few believed their theories â but Yates continued her research while Gilbert tried to distance herself away. But when ghosts start appearing across Manhattan, the two are brought together alongside nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon) and subway worker Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones) to investigate, research ...

#REVIEW: “THE DEBT”
Review by SiobhĂĄn Rich for Mr. Will Wong
The word "debt" immediately brings to mind stacks of bills marked past due and a bright red bank balance preceded by a negative sign. In Writer/Director Barney Elliotâs new Movie, The Debt, financial debts are least of his charactersâ worries: the obligations of karmic and moral debt weigh much heavier in these three intersecting storylines.
Oliver Campbell (Stephen Dorff) has devoted the last two years of his life to engineering a land deal in ...
