Credited widely as a hero, Dr. Aditi Sivakumar (seen above) — OB/GYN resident and women’s health advocate is premiering a new mini-documentary on March 8, 2026, International Women’s Day, that centers the lived experiences of pregnant women living with HIV, a story rarely told in mainstream maternal health coverage. She produces the film.
The film spotlights patients from the P3 (Positive Pregnancy Program), a specialized prenatal program that has supported women living with HIV for over two decades and resulted in almost 400 healthy babies have been born, including many siblings. Despite these outcomes, stigma and misinformation around HIV in pregnancy persist. The documentary confronts those realities head-on while highlighting what evidence-based, compassionate care actually looks like.
Produced with YWCA Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation, the film is intimate, patient-led, and solutions-focused. Even ahead of its public premiere, early screenings have sparked hospital-level conversations around confidentiality, trauma-informed delivery practices, and patient-centered prenatal care.
