The multi-talented Dylan Minnette was in Toronto this weekend not for his acting, but many don’t know he’s got his own band too, Wallows.
The popular young actor known best for his starring roles in Goosebumps, Don’t Breathe and Netflix‘s acclaimed 13 Reasons Why, played a sold-out show at The Mod Club with bandmates Braeden LeMasters and Cole Preston.
While Minnette kept to himself most of the day after a drive to Toronto with his Band from Detroit, he made time generously with Fans who were able to get close enough. We can say he’s really a great guy!

It should come as no surprise that BLACK PANTHER takes the top of the Box Office again this weekend with a stellar $104.1 million from 4,020 theatres across North America for Disney/Marvel. Over two weeks it is just shy of the $400 million-mark. INCREDIBLE.
GAME NIGHT debuts a solid second with $15.1 million from 3,488 theatres for Warner Bros. The Comedy starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, gets an 81% on the Tomatometer and a B+ CinemaScore.
Down to third is PETER RABBIT with $13.1 million for Sony Pictures, a total $70.8 million over three weeks domestically.
ANNIHILATION debuts in fourth with $10.7 million for Paramount Pictures from 2,012 theatres. The Film starring Natalie Portman, gets a stellar 87% on the Tomatometer but inversely a C CinemaScore only from Audiences.
FIFTY SHADES FREED is in fifth with $6.9 million for Universal Pictures, a three-week total of $89.5 million.
EVERY DAY opens in ninth with $3 million from 1,667 theatres for Open Road Films/Elevation Pictures. It gets a 51% on the Tomatometer and a B+ CinemaScore.
EARLY MAN rounds-out the Top Ten with $1.4 million for Lionsgate Films/eOne Films.
One of the year’s most anticipated tours belongs to that of iconic Girl Group Bananarama. The Trio formed in London in 1981, consists of Siobhan Fahey, Keren Woodward and Sara Dallin. Together, they topped charts internationally in the mid-80s with hits Cruel Summer, I Heard a Rumour, Love in the First Degree and more familiarly, their cover of Shocking Blue‘s Venus which went to #1 in North America. After Fahey left the group to create the Duo Shakespeares Sister, she found success in her native UK and stateside with smash hit Stay. While childhood friends Dallin and Woodward continued to tour and record as a Trio with Jacquie O’Sullivan and then eventually as a Duo, 30 years would pass before we would see the original Bananarama lineup unite once again.
Bananarama have the distinction of a Guinness Book of World Records record for the all-female group who have the most UK chart entries in history. Their legacy has paved the way for several other internationally-successful UK girl groups, namely Spice Girls, The Saturdays, Girls Aloud, Little Mix, All Saints and more.
Performing on only four North American dates this time including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and New York, the Trio arrived in Toronto late last night. While Dallin and Woodward arrived together initially, Fahey would take a while longer to make it out, but her Banandmates🍌 would wait patiently out of view after signing some autographs for fans who waited a long time for this day to come.
The ladies were very specific about no photographs, Dallin reasoning “I just got off a long flight”, despite looking in wonderful form. She later would put on her sunglasses as she walked through the airport. Woodward declined too, saying “Absolutely not, I’m very tired”. Their tune was unison like in many of their songs with Fahey who stated too, “I look absolutely awful”, none of which was true however!
Woodward seemed pleased with some of the positive reviews the Tour has been garnering. Perhaps we will see an expanded version of the Tour to come seeing how all North American dates have sold-out? Fans either way are thrilled at this once-in-a-lifetime chance to see them perform together.
I was able to collect this memento however, for which I am grateful!
Bananarama powered through an energetic 90-minute set at Danforth Music Hall gifting fans with that same dancey nostalgia that help them rise to fame. Dressed in form-fitting black and bedazzled in Swarovski crystals which Dallin jokes is an homage to the Olympics. The Trio performed originals and covers like Nathan Jones, Robert DeNiro’s Waiting, More Than Physical, Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye to a showstopping rendition of Venus, with an encore capped-off by fan favourite Love in the First Degree which earned them a BRIT Award nomination. They had the crowd from floor to balcony on their feet start to finish. They even performed Fahey‘s Shakespeares Sister hit Stay as a pleasant surprise which the audience loved. What the Trio lacked for in actual live vocals – given away by the fact that Dallin spoke into her mic following a song inaudible – they made-up for in sizzling charm and energy. You would be hard-pressed to find a person who didn’t walk away uplifted.

Mr. Will wants to give Readers a chance to attend a special Fan screening of TOMB RAIDER on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in Toronto!
Synopsis:
Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London fd as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.
Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name tomb raider.
