Who’s got Tennis fever? A multi-episode doc-series following the US Women’s National Team’s World Cup journey will premiere globally on Netflix this Fall, 2023. The series is a co-production with TIME Studios, Words + Pictures, and Togethxr.

Synopsis:

The all-access sports series will allow audiences to intimately follow the US Women’s National Team’s players and coaches and reveal an inside look at the most decorated team in soccer history. Viewers will get a first-hand look at the pressure, the euphoria, the joy, and the hardships that these world-class athletes experience as they strive to capture their third World Cup title in a row. Issues ranging from racial diversity, LGBTQ+ rights, equal pay, family, and motherhood are all brought to light as the narrative unfolds.

The series will capture all of the personal and team preparation on the road to their biggest FIFA World Cup. Throughout their tournament run, audiences will learn how this team stands on the shoulders of those who played before them, and how they continue to break the glass ceiling for equality in sports for women of the future.

The series will include veteran champions like Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe, who recently announced this was her last World Cup, 18-year-old rising star Alyssa Thompson as well as US Women’s World Cup Team first timers Sofia Huerta, Lynn Williams and Kristie Mewis. Additional names will be announced at a later date.

The series is currently in production in New Zealand and Australia following the team as they compete for the 2023 World Cup.

On July 13, 2023, at the ESPY Awards, the US Women’s National Team was awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award for their strength and determination, fighting for pay parity in soccer.

20th Century Studios, New Regency and Entertainment One have released a new trailer for the epic sci-fi action thriller “The Creator,” which opens in theatres September 29, 2023. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART ONE demolishes the competition this weekend, debuting in top spot with $54.2 million from 4,327 theatres for Paramount Pictures. Its five-day running total is $78 million since its Wednesday opening, across North America. Franchise best still goes to MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT with $61 million in 2018.

SOUND OF FREEDOM lands in second spot, still going strong with $23.6 million from 3,265 theatres for Angel Studios, a two-week total of $82 million.

INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR is in third with $12.6 million from 3,188 theatres for Sony Pictures, a two week run of $57 million.

Fourth is INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY with $11.4 million for 20th Century Studios, a total $144 million over three weeks.

Disney & Pixar’s ELEMENTAL is fifth with $8.5 million, a total $125 million over five weekends.

Feel-good pop duo Crash Adams have released their summer single “Sugar Mommy” today via Warner Music Canada/Warner Records. The track arrives alongside a fun video that showcases the band’s personality while highlighting their appreciation of a woman who gets what she wants. Watch the music video below:

Paramount+ today announced that MIXTAPE, a new documentary exploring how the creation of mixtapes launched hip hop into mainstream culture, will premiere exclusively on the service Tuesday, August 1 in the U.S. and Canada and Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in the U.K., Australia, Latin America and Brazil, with further international markets to follow later in the year.

MIXTAPE is the story of hip hop refusing to take no for an answer. Before radio play, the internet, and social media, there were mixtapes. DJs were tastemakers, trendsetters and creators of the sound that became the biggest musical genre on the planet. The importance of mixtapes goes well beyond the tapes themselves. Mixtapes were a form of currency and a signifier that someone was “in the know” and had their ear to the streets. The culture was too strong to be stopped, and the artists were too talented to be ignored – so they turned the sub-culture into the mainstream, and made hip hop what it is today.

“Hip-Hop is 50 years old and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate its journey and contextualize its evolution than through the story of the mixtape. 20th Century Studios’ “Quiz Lady,” a hilarious and heartfelt comedy starring Awkwafina and Sandra Oh about a dysfunctional family and the game show which just might be the key to their salvation, will premiere November 3, 2023, exclusively on Disney+ in Canada.

In the film, a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion. Today, Disney+, Disney Junior and Lucasfilm announced that “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” Season 1 continues with six all-new episodes. The new episodes will debut on Disney+ and Disney Junior beginning August 2, 2023, with more episodes to come later this year. In total, “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” Season 1 will be a 25-episode run.

Set during The High Republic era, the animated series follows Jedi Younglings as they study the ways of the Force and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi. The series was recently nominated for a 2023 Television Critics Association Award and was awarded a Common Sense Seal from Common Sense Media, which acknowledges outstanding media that families can enjoy together.

The first seven episodes from the series, which premiered May 4, saw the Younglings train with Master Yoda and Master Zia at the Jedi temple on Tenoo, meet pilot and fast friend Nash Durango, and clash with pirate Taborr Val Dorn. The six new episodes will follow the Younglings as they continue to hone their Force abilities and go on adventures across the galaxy.

Synopsis:

January 2118. Chief Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department, Akane Tsunemori, receives a report of an incident on a foreign vessel – the body of Professor Milicia Stronskaya has been discovered. Behind the incident is a group known as the Peacebreakers, a foreign paramilitary organization and a new outside threat who are targeting the professor’s research papers known as the “Stronskaya Document”.

PSYCHO-PASS was an original anime project for television that began in 2012. Now, after ten years, comes the newest film that will act as the connective tissue between the movie PSYCHO-PASS Sinners of the System Case 3: On the Other Side of Love and Hate and season 3 of the PSYCHO-PASS TV series. The entire story will now finally be told.
