Today, Disney+ revealed that the critically acclaimed, Emmy® Award-winning hit comedy series FX’s “The Bear” will premiere its third season on Thursday, June 27 only on Disney+ in Canada, with all episodes available at premiere. The first teaser for Season 3 was also released today and is available now, along with a first look image.

Season three of FX’s “The Bear” follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they do what it takes to elevate The Bear, their beef stand turned fine dining establishment, to the highest level, all while doing their best just to stay in business. It’s a losing battle every single day in the restaurant business. Carmy pushes himself harder than ever, and demands excellence from his crew, who do their best to match his intensity.

Their quest for culinary excellence will propel the crew to new levels and stress the bonds that hold the restaurant together. As the team grows in size, each member will strive to reach a greater level of service within their role. In the restaurant industry, you’re never on solid ground, and with that ever-changing landscape comes new challenges and opportunities. Our chefs have learned that every second counts, but this season we’ll find out if they have what it takes to make it to tomorrow.

The half-hour series also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.

The announcement of the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival marks the largest Canadian presence at the festival in the last 12 years. More than 300 Canadians from across the country will be on the Croisette from May 14 to 25, 2024.

In the official selection, Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice (his third film in the official selection at Cannes) and David Cronenberg’s The Shrouds (his seventh film in the official selection at Cannes) have been selected for competition. In the short film competition, Perfectly a Strangeness by Alison McAlpine is in the running. Telos I by Emil Dam Seidel and Dorotea Saykaly, and The Roaming by Mathieu Pradat have been selected for the new immersive competition. Finally, out of competition, Rumours by Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson and Galen Johnson is part of the selection.

In addition, the parallel sections of the Directors’ Fortnight and Critics’ Week include Une Langue Universelle (Universal Language) by Matthew Rankin and Alazar by Beza Hailu Lemma.

The films Rumours, The Shrouds, and Une Langue Universelle (Universal Language) received funding from Telefilm Canada.

Paramount+ today announced that the original drama series LIONESS (previously titled SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS) has been renewed for a second season. From Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, the series’ returning star-studded cast includes series lead and executive producer Zoe Saldaña; Canadian Laysla De Oliveira; Emmy® nominee Michael Kelly; with Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, who will be a series regular in season two; and Oscar winner and executive producer Nicole Kidman. The record-breaking espionage thriller is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+.

Season one of LIONESS set a new record as the service’s most-watched worldwide series premiere on launch day, at that time, with nearly six million total viewers in its first week across Paramount+ globally and a linear preview on the Paramount Network.

Fashion’s biggest night did not disappoint! The cream of the crop, top of the heap gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the 2024 MET GALA, celebrating this year’s decided theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion“. Elegance bloomed with stars from across all disciplines uniting at the ultra-exclusive affair, which some could have purchased a ticket to at $75,000 US each, and subject to approval above that! We saw a lot of floral inspiration in the fashion this year, paying tribute to the flowers and botanicals of the woods in which the fairy tale is set.

We were in-town as we have in previous years to capture a bit of the excitement. We simply adore New York City, its people, its dining, its welcoming heart and we will continue to visit as long as we can! beanie and I had an absolute blast and this year more than ever we saw fans and spectators out and about in full force. The star power of the Met Gala is undeniable and it is a good thing that everyone’s talking about it. It literally is the greatest night on earth!

Admittedly, we had a shortlist of stars we wanted to meet real bad, and as luck would have it, most of our wishes came true this year. A magical year! To think we were feeling a bit down for part of the night wondering if it was ever gonna happen.

Today, Disney+ revealed first look images and the premiere date for the upcoming new season of “Criminal Minds: Evolution.” Produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios, the 10-episode new season will premiere on June 7, 2024 on Disney+ in Canada. The first two episodes will be available to stream at launch with subsequent new episodes dropping weekly on Friday.

In the wake of last season’s shocking finale, the upcoming all-new season of “Criminal Minds: Evolution” picks up as the FBI’s elite team of profilers investigates the deadly mystery of GOLD STAR. As the conspiracy unfolds, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is met with an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that transfers him to federal custody in the BAU’s own backyard. The team faces its biggest threat yet and cannot emerge unscathed from the mind-bending consequences.

“Criminal Minds: Evolution” stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, Ryan-James Hatanaka with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. Felicity Huffman will guest star this season.

The Toronto Jewish Film Foundation is proud to announce its 32nd annual Festival, which will be taking place from May 30th – June 9th, 2024. The TJFF 2024 slate will consist of over 80 films/series from across the globe 36 of which are Canadian premieres, covering a wide range of topics.

TJFF are proud to announce that the Canadian Premiere of MIDAS MAN will kick off the festival’s in-person screenings on Thursday, May 30th at 8:00 p.m. ET. MIDAS MAN is the emotional, heartfelt and often funny story of how Brian Epstein polished four scruffy lads who were going nowhere and in a matter of months turned them into a global phenomenon; The Beatles. Directed by Joe Stephenson, the film stars Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit) as Brian Epstein.

TJFF are thrilled to welcome special guests for several in-person screenings. This year’s Festival will also offer several free screenings in their newly-curated ‘City Spotlight’ program which features a retrospective of film and television productions from Winnipeg, including: THE MOURNING SUIT and the beloved cult series LESS THAN KIND which will welcome discussions from filmmakers at their respective screenings.
