Corus Entertainmentâs top 10 specialty network* W Network unveiled today a sizzling hot lineup of drama programming to keep viewers warm all winter long; featuring six brand new and returning hit series, plus a four-part W Network original movie special event, all available to stream live and on demand with STACKTV.
All roads lead to home with the premiere of Hallmark Channel Original Series The Way Home on Sunday, January 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The Way Home is a family drama following the lives of three generations of women â Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh), her teen daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) and Katâs mother Del (Andie MacDowell), who are all strong, willful and independent. More than 20 years prior, life changing events prompted Kat to move away from her small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven and she remains estranged from Del to this day. Alice has never met her grandmother and is unaware of the reasons for their fractured family. As the three generations of women slowly work on finding their footing as a family, they embark on an enlightening â and surprising â journey none of them could have imagined as they learn how to find their way back to each other.
This February, fall head over heels for The Love Club! These four W Network Original Movies will air as a four-part special event, with a premiere every Monday in February at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning February 6. At a New Yearâs Eve college party, four women â Nicole (Brittany Bristow), Lauren (Chantel Riley), Sydney (Lily Gao) and Tara (Camille Stopps) â each dealing with their own dating disaster, take a vow to call on one another if they are ever in romantic crisis again. This vow that has them resurrecting their âLove Clubâ ten years later as each of them search for their unique happily ever after. Viewers will be able to follow the lives of The Love Club by watching the four-part movie event sequentially or as stand-alone movies, in which each woman is the lead in her own romantic journey, helped by the rest of her friends to find their one true love.
Highly anticipated limited series The Best Man: The Final Chapters premieres Thursday, March 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Based on the eponymous Universal film franchise written and directed by Malcom D. Lee (who also directed four episodes), the drama series will catch up with Harper, Lance, Murch, Quentin, Jordan, Robyn, Candace, and Shelby as relationships evolve and past grievances resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance. Produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, the series reunites the filmâs original cast including Morris Chestnut, Melissa De Sousa, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Harold Perrineau.

Disney+ announced today a pilot greenlight for âWitch Mountain,â a reimagining of the successful film franchise. The series is a modern reinvention of the cult classic that takes place in the shadow of âWitch Mountain,â following two teens that develop strange abilities and discover their sleepy suburb may not be as idyllic as it seems.
Bryce Dallas Howard (âJurassic World: Dominionâ) stars in the leading role as âAudrey,â Tia’s devoted and loving mother. Her husband died from a mental illness and she tries to reassure a fretful Tia that she shows no sign of following her father’s dark spiral. A warm mama bear type, but like everyone in this town, not everything is as it seems.
Howard is a multi-hyphenate creator who continues to work both on-screen and behind the camera. As an actor, she recently starred alongside Chris Pratt in Universalâs âJurassic Worldâ franchise and next stars in Matthew Vaughnâs spy thrillerâŻâArgylleââŻfor Apple TV+. Earlier this year, HowardâŻlent her voice to the Star Wars character âYaddleâ in the animated Disney+ series âTales of the Jedi.â Howard is represented by Entertainment 360, WME and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
Isabel Gravitt (âThe Watcherâ), Levi Miller (âStreamlineâ), Bianca âbâ Norwood (âWe Crashedâ) and Jackson Kelly (âStraight Manâ) have been cast in the pilot.

Isabel Gravitt (series regular) as âTia,â a straight-A student who’s regarded by her classmates as âperfect,â although she regards herself as flawed. She’s terrified of failure and is plagued by nightmares and fears that her late father’s schizophrenia is starting to exhibit itself in her. Tia has âhallucinationsâ in which people around her step outside their living bodies and voice their deepest, darkest fears and desires and rages. Gravitt is known for her series regular role as âEllie Brannockâ in Netflix’s hit limited series “The Watcher.” She made her debut in CBS’s pilot “The History of Us” and had recurring roles in ABC’s “American Housewife” and Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere.” Gravitt is represented by Buchwald and Randy James Management.
Levi Miller (series regular) as âBen,â a troubled teen who makes ends meet by writing papers for other students but he’s got a hot temper and if he slugs another student, he’ll be expelled. Ben is best friends with Corey, his co-worker at the diner. Heâs recently made a troubling discovery about himself, he can force others in his vicinity to move according to his will and there’s something drawing him inexplicably in the direction of Tia. Miller is best known for his roles in âPan,â âA Wrinkle in Timeâ and âBetter Watch Out.â Most recently, he was seen in the indie film âStreamline,â is also starring in Sonyâs âKraven the Hunter,â and attached to the upcoming British indie âBeach Boys.â Miller is repped by Verve, Rogue Management in the UK, Eaton Management in Australia and attorneys Fred Toczek and Jared Bloc.
Bianca âbâ Norwood (series regular) as âCorey,â Ben’s closest friend, an outsider with tattoos, Corey is a very mature teen who comes across older than they are. They are one step away from expulsion and puts more care into looking like a My Chemical Romance song that became an anime fan. Corey works at the local diner alongside Ben and is in his circle of trust, but doesn’t appreciate it when he tries to act as their protector. Norwood most recently starred in the New York Theatre Workshop production of “American (Tele)visions.” Most recently, they can be seen in the AppleTV+ series âWe Crashed,â as well as the Showtime series âLet the Right One In,â and can be heard voicing a lead role in the new QCODE fantasy podcast series âBirds of Empire.â Norwood is represented by Innovative and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
Jackson Kelly (series regular) as âPeter,â Tia’s closest male friend. Peter is lovesick on the subject of Tia, but she’s unaware of his charms, and equally unaware of his devotion. But when Tia expresses her concerns about the seemingly impossible happenings around them, she learns that Peter’s observant, cautious nature might be an asset in figuring out the mystery around them. Jackson has a busy year ahead with the release of his major recurring role in the highly anticipated AMC series âStraight Manâ and âHard Miles.â Heâs currently starring in the fifth installment of the cult-followed Shudder franchise âV/H/S/99.â Kelly is represented by Talent Works and 11:11 Entertainment.

Yesterday afternoon, I had the distinct pleasure of attending a conversation with Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, moderated by Vincenzo Natali in a post-screening Q&A about PINOCCHIO, now streaming on Netflix. If youâve ever had the distinct pleasure of listening to del Toro speak, you will know the man doesnât mince his words, loves to tell stories, and isnât afraid of shying away from speaking from the heart. His conversations regarding his own works are usually phenomenal and this special event was no different as he went and talked with Gustafson and Natali for a near hour! We had the privilege of sitting-in on the entire and below are some of the highlights of the magical talk, be warned though there is certainly some choice language.
Natali: “Why did you choose to explore what Pinocchio was?”.
del Toro: “Why donât we make a movie about a father being a real father, instead of a movie about a boy being a real boy which is absolute bullshit.”.
Gustafson: “In the film, Pinocchio comes in the world kind of the way we all do, which is naked, and he goes through the whole story like that and everyone he gets in contact with by the end is changed for it.”.
Natali: “Why the small grim eyes for Pinocchio?”.
del Toro: “I found the art in 2002/2003 of Gris [Grimly] and I just knew this was my PinocchioâŠ.it can be a little bit creepy. At the beginning we decided we didnât want to make him cuddly.”.
Gustafson: “And he was carved when Geppetto was blind drunk!”.
There was a question posed by Natali about how he pitched the story of this darker re-telling of Pinocchio, to which del Toro originally told a story about how Sony Animation originally greenlit his Pinocchio pitch unheard, but he decided he wanted to pitch it and then Sony decided maybe it wasnât the project for them because he wanted to tell Pinocchio with Mussolini and the backdrop of World War II. He followed it up by saying, âWhen someone doesnât want to do your movie, itâs the second-best news. I learned it in Mimic and the Weinsteins tortured me because they wanted to do Alien 3.5 and I wanted to make mimic. I seek unemployment for the truth.â.
Some other fascinating tidbits of information were when Gustafson mentioned they had 32 puppets of Pinocchio, to which del Toro replied, âItâs like playing with your toys in the most expensive placeâ.
When probed about why they decided to make their Pinocchio such a dark version, Gustafson indicated, âWe decided to never talk down to children, we knew they could handle itâ. del Toro decided also to weigh-in with the following âI donât think Animation is a fucking genre for kids. Itâs a medium that can explore sadness and tragedy, and we keep it in that medium [for children] because of economic decisions.â.
This is a sentiment that has been said by many Directors in the past about how Animation should not be seen as a lesser medium, and isnât always for children.
In a year filled with many fresh takes on Cinema, del Toro left the audience with this quote, âWe are only as good as our last shotâ. And it suffice it to say this was a pretty superb last shot.
Guillermo del Toroâs Pinocchio is now streaming on Netlfix.
