Today, Disney+ announced that the critically acclaimed, award-winning hit series FX’s “The Bear” has been renewed for a third season, coming 2024. The first two seasons are available to stream now on Disney+ in Canada.

Season one is currently nominated for 13 Emmy® Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, acting nominations for Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Jon Bernthal and Oliver Platt, along with nominations for writing, directing, casting, production design, picture editing, sound editing and sound mixing. The critically acclaimed series was also honored as an AFI TV Program of the Year in its first season, and racked up numerous awards including a WGA Award, PGA Award, Film Independent Spirit Award, American Cinema Editors Award and ACE Eddie Award. Additionally, Jeremy Allen White won the Golden Globe, SAG, and Critics Choice awards for lead actor in a comedy series.

Season two followed Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they worked to transform their grimy sandwich joint into a next-level spot. As they stripped the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertook transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.

Of course, it turned out the only thing harder than running a restaurant was opening a new one, and the team had to juggle the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning. The transition brought a newfound focus on hospitality as well. As the entire staff was forced to come together in new ways, pushing the boundaries of their abilities and relationships, they also learned what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other.

FX’s “The Bear” was created by Christopher Storer (“Ramy,” “Eighth Grade”), who acts as executive producer alongside Joanna Calo (“BoJack Horseman,” “Undone”), Hiro Murai (“Atlanta,” “Station Eleven”) of Super Frog, Josh Senior and Matty Matheson, with Tyson Bidner (“Ramy”) serving as producer. FRIDAY NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S takes the top spot again at the Box Office a second week with $17.8 million for Universal Pictures, an impressive two week tally of $112 million in North America.

In second is TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR with $11.9 million, a four weekend total of $164.3 million.

Third is KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON with $6.2 million for Apple Original Films/Paramount, a total $51 million in its third weekend.

PRISCILLA bows in fourth with $5.5 million from 1,450 theatres for A24/Elevation Pictures. It gets 85% on the Tomatometer.

Rounding things out is AFTER DEATH with $2.9 milion for Angel Studios, a run of $10.2 million to date.

No bad deed goes unpunished on Jan. 10, 2024, when Marvel Studios’ “Echo” launches on Disney+. Check out the all-new trailer and poster revealed this morning. The five-episode streaming event spotlights Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy. All five episodes will stream on Jan. 10. This marks the first Marvel Studios series to drop all entirely bingeable episodes at once.
