The Stars have descended upon Toronto for the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards and while preparations are well under-way over at the Station’s Queen Street Headquarters with Soundchecks taking place throughout the day, several Guests and Performers are just now arriving. Several Fans today not only got a Sneak Peek of tomorrow night’s performances, but some were even lucky enough to meet the Performers including Co-Host PSY, who was gracious to stop for Snaps earlier today with Fans! Others like Armin Van Buuren, Avril Lavigne, Phillip Phillips and more graced the stage today.
Meanwhile on the other end of the City, we were lucky enough to witness several of tomorrow’s Presenters arrive including the likes of Josh Bowman (Revenge), Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars), Kunal Nayyar (Big Bang Theory), Naya Rivera (Glee), Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars), Popstar Cody Simpson and this year’s MMVAs “It Couple” Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect, Hairspray) and Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf). Red-hot Arrow Star Stephen Amell, who hails from Toronto, already has been in town for a bit in advance of the Show.
Meanwhile, Australian Internet Sensations The Janoskians have been causing quite a rage at their Hotel, requiring their Security to step-it-up a bit as their hoards of female Fans shower them with attention.
And although simultaneously in town for her Red Tour at Rogers Centre, Taylor Swift and Tourmate Ed Sheeran are expected to grace the Queen Street Stage tomorrow and some are saying they just might perform their latest Single Everything Has Changed as a surprise.
The 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards air tomorrow night at 9:00 PM EST on both MuchMusic and Fuse.

Teen Pop Sensation Austin Mahone is back in Toronto once again and while opening for multiple GRAMMY Winner Taylor Swift on her Red Tour along with Ed Sheeran, he managed to take some time out to do a little Promo!
The Singer flew-in to the City last night, getting spotted right away upon landing! Starting earlier today at City‘s Breakfast Television, excited Fans were rewarded with a big Group Photo. Following his City appearance, the 17-year-old from San Antonio, hopped over to Global Television‘s The Morning Show (National Edition) where he was greeted outside by hoards of female Fans, many who got Selfies with the burgeoning Star. Surrounded by a large entourage of Security Guards to protect the Star, Autograph Seekers unfortunately were denied, despite Mahone trying his best to reach over to accommodate them! Sorry Wongsters, I tried for you but it wasn’t happening!
Mahone performs tonight at Rogers Centre and Fans can see more of him Sunday on the MuchMusic Video Awards, which air this Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 9:00 PM on MuchMusic and Fuse.
The Singer just released the Video to latest Single What About Love earlier this week. Check it out below:

I cannot resist a good campy Film, but camp and Pedro Almodóvar together in one? Sold. After a series of darker, dramatic Films, it’s refreshing to see one of our fave Directors branch all-the-way-Gay and comedic here, having a bit of fun! Right in time for Pride Week!
Mongrel Media & Mr. Will Wong would love to give Toronto and Vancouver Readers a chance to attend an Advance Screening of I’m So Excited. Screenings take place Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Toronto’s Varsity Cinemas and Vancouver’s 5th Avenue Cinemas, 7:00 PM.
Official Synopsis:
A passenger flight is on its way from Spain to Mexico, when it experiences landing gear problems, thanks to a goof-up by two ground workers (Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz in cameo roles). Chances are the plane could crash. So how do the stewards (Javier Camara, Carlos Areces, Raul Arevalo) stave off the fear?
For starters, they knock out economy class with drugs. Then they distract business class by breaking out the booze, and breaking into a song-and-dance performed to the Pointer Sisters’ titular Hit. As things loosen up, the cabin becomes a hotbed of sex and spilled secrets.

Recently joining Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation Family, Pop Queen Kylie Minogue is prepping the release of her twelfth Studio Disc and a Lyric Video for her new Track, Skirt, has just surfaced after the Audio leaked online a couple weeks ago. The Track, which pairs her with Co-Writer The-Dream and Producer Nom de Strip somewhat is like Scream & Shout by will.i.am and Britney Spears with its dark, futuristic, Electro flavour – an interesting change after going lighter on Disc Aphrodite in 2010. The Melody is signature Kylie when the Track does get melodic after all the Build-up.
See the Lyric Video below:
With EMI‘s (her former Distributor) acquisition by Universal Music last Fall, it’ll be interesting to see a new energy in Kylie‘s being marketed Stateside, a feat still illusive despite her being a huge, international Megastar. Guessing this is more of a Teaser in advance of what’s the come, but as always we’re excited to hear more from her!
I still don’t believe it’s been a month since I finally met Kylie Minogue by chance in New York City last month! Although I’ve seen her in Concert many times including overseas, she was just everything I hoped she’d be. Sweetheart.
Our Snap, once again:

Basically, these need to come to Canada STAT! Originated at the Dominique Ansel Bakery on Spring Street in New York City, the Cronut Craze has taken over the Big Apple with fervour. With people queuing in droves on the daily at the Bakery for their 8:00 AM opening, even Craigslisters are quick to cash-in, offering a Box of Two reportedly for up to $50 (U.S.) on the secondary market. The retail originally at $5.00 a piece, but good luck on getting one. Insane.
A Cronut is simply/not so simply this: a half-Croissant, half-Donut, filmed with layer of Creme Anglaise. Either it is sprinkled with sugar or glazed. Flavours vary monthly.
Don’t confuse the Pastry simply as being deep-fried Croissant Dough though. As per the Bakery, it is “made with a laminated dough similar to a croissant (but not exactly), the Cronut is first proofed and then fried in Grapeseed Oil at a specific temperature.”.
Although Cronuts launched only this May, they already have Fans internationally with Celebrities already singing its praises. Kelly Ripa on-the-daily is plugging how amazing they are, telling Jerry Seinfeld today on Live! with Kelly and Michael, “There’s a reason why they’re shaped like an ‘O’!”.
Canadians may have to wait a while for the rage to hit north. Some Shoppers at Loblaw’s fancy Carlton Store in Toronto earlier this year spotted a more simplified version of the Cronut, sans filling or the embellishments, before the fad even began. And those businesses looking to follow suit should be aware that the name Cronuts actually is trademarked by Ansel, so expect some creative takes and various on the name to come.

With its release only a week away, Greta Gerwig (Arthur, Damsels in Distress) and Noah Baumbach (Kicking and Screaming, The Squid and the Whale) returned to the City where they debuted their latest Collaboration Frances Ha, once again. After drawing raves at TIFF last September, the Duo are here for a couple days of Press for the charming Dramedy about a 27-year-old Dance Company Apprentice whose world unravels after her Best Friend moves out of their apartment. This leaves Frances (Gerwig) on her own to figure out who she really is and what she will do with her life.
Several lucky Fans including Mr. Will Wong Readers, got a chance to see the Film tonight at a special Advance Screening held at Varsity Cinemas, attended by Gerwig and Baumbach. Due to overwhelming demand resulting in exceeded capacity, some had to be offered passes to an additional Screening of the Film next week. Those lucky enough to get in however, had a chance to chat with the Duo whom co-wrote the Film together afterwards, as they discussed their creative process. One aspiring Actress was ecstatic after jokingly being extended an offer by Baumbach to crash on his couch when she moves to New York City! Now that’s hospitality!
One Reader, Bruce Gibbons Tweets me, “They’re absolutely adorable!”, while Diana DiFrancesco raves, “Frances Ha is wonderful! Everyone should go see it!”. Another Reader Addison Wylie commented, “Frances Ha is a very Frenchy black-and-white episode of Girls, but it’s much more than that”, and Matt Hoffman also praises it, saying “Noah Baumbach is at his best in another great, quirky Comedy starring the lovely Greta Gerwig”.
Gerwig drew a crowd of Fans outside the theatre and was lovely to stop for a few Photos, with a few lucky enough to get a Snap! Special thanks to the Readers who were kind enough to send along their Photos!
Mongrel Media releases Frances Ha on Friday, June 21, 2013 in Toronto and Vancouver, followed by additional cities.
