Scarborough Town Centre (STC) is teaming up with the Scarborough Shooting Stars to bring basketball culture, community energy and friendly competition to the mall. On Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Centre Court will transform into a lively basketball court for 5 Spot, a community basketball activation. Participants will compete in a series of qualifiers and playoff rounds for the opportunity to be crowned the first-ever Scarborough Shootout Champion. The event is free for spectators and participating teams.
Rooted in Scarborough’s deep connection to basketball, sport and community, the activation brings together local players, fans and recognizable basketball personalities for a day that celebrates the city’s energy on and off the court. The event will be hosted by The Real Smilez (@therealsmilez) and Brady Heslip (@heslip), creating an engaging experience for participants and guests.
“Scarborough Town Centre is proud to be a community gathering place, and 5 Spot is a great example of how we can bring people together through shared passions and experiences,” said Karen Calibuso-Kwa, Marketing Manager of Scarborough Town Centre. “In partnership with the Scarborough Shooting Stars, a team that reflects the culture, diversity and pride of our community, we’re excited to welcome residents, families and basketball fans to an event that truly embraces the spirit of Scarborough.”
