#REVIEW: “MR. MALCOLM’S LIST”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
Let us immediately address the elephant in the room. Can MR. MALCOLM’S LIST survive the scrutiny of being compared to “Bridgerton”? Both are Regency period pieces set in the 1800s, with an inclusive multi-racial Cast. Each has its share of dialogue spoken with impeccable British accents, while strolling in lush gardens or exquisite rooms in stately manors or the ubiquitous Balls.
Directed by Emma Holly Jones and written by Suzanne Allain (who ...

#REVIEW: “THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
The Marvel Cinematic Universe fatigue is real, there is no denying that fact. It was real before Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame but there was a clear payoff after a decade. With Phase Four of the MCU, we’re recoiling from the events of Endgame still while our heroes are trying to move on with their lives, figure out what’s going on, and just trying to live as best they can. However, fans are hitting a wall. There is simply too much ...

#REVIEW: “MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON”
By Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Dean Fleischer-Camp and Jenny Slate have had this idea about a talking shell named Marcel with a pair of shoes on for over 12 years as the short with the same name as the feature Marcel the Shell with Shoes On debuted on YouTube. Now that there is a Feature Film to give the world more of this endlessly adorable shell with his shoes on, audiences truly could not be any more delighted than they have been with beloved Marcel. They say it takes a village (at ...

#REVIEW: “ELVIS”
Review by Mr. Will Wong
In the final frames of Baz Luhrmann's Elvis, the King of Rock 'n' Roll pours his heart into a rendition of "Unchained Melody", sweat dripping off his forehead. "And time goes by/So slowly...", he sings as his female fans cheer and scream emphatically. Time going by slowly certainly isn't the case in this dazzling spectacle. Its two-and-a-half hour runtime if anything, goes by too quickly.
This Biopic, works on two levels. It's a riveting ride to mega-stardom for ...

#REVIEW: “THE MAN FROM TORONTO”
By Mr. Will Wong
After finding some success with franchises like THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD and THE EXPENDABLES, Austrlian Director Patrick Hughes is back with long-awaited THE MAN FROM TORONTO, which we've been invested-in, particularly. FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.

#REVIEW: DISNEY AND PIXAR’S “LIGHTYEAR”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
I am the quintessential '90s Baby, as I was born in '93, so Toy Story has always had a special place in my heart. I remember vividly seeing Toy Story 3 a dozen times in theatres, so when Pixar announced Lightyear, I cannot deny that I was hesitant at first. Then I saw a Trailer for Lightyear and was less concerned but a little perplexed about why Buzz Lightyear was voiced by someone other than Tim Allen, issues aside. However, after seeing what ...

#REVIEW: “JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION”
Review by Nicholas Porteous for Mr. Will Wong
"Dodgson! We've got Dodgson here!" Wayne Knight proclaims to a small crowd in the 1993 masterpiece Jurassic Park. Eliciting no response whatsoever, he snarkily follows up with the classic line "See? Nobody cares." directly to Dodgson's face. Cut to present day. The sixth installment in the franchise is upon us. Jurassic World Dominion asks the question: what if Dodgson--known for being a character that no one cares about--had his own Movie? Before ...

#REVIEW: “FIRE ISLAND”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
I knew within the first five seconds, when the Cast performs (off-key) the famous Fox Searchlight movie theme, that I would be in for a treat watching FIRE ISLAND. I was wrong; it was not a treat – it was a mouth-watering, sumptuous buffet table ladened with tantalizing gourmet offerings that makes one squeal with delight and awe. Making no pretense of its inspiration (Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”), this Movie seamlessly incorporates the ...

#REVIEW: “TOP GUN: MAVERICK”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
As we make our way through the third year of this never-ending Pandemic, it has become increasingly clear that Film audiences crave familiar characters and Intellectual Property (IP) when they venture out to the Movies. We as an audience have been conditioned to run out and see the latest Superhero movie on the biggest screen possible, and to wait to watch the less bombastic, less-familiar sounding films once they hit streaming services. At one point ...
