#REVIEW: “DEADPOOL”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Anyone who has been following Ryan Reynolds' career knows that for over a decade he has tried time and again to persuade the powers that be to green-light a Deadpool Movie. The year is 2016, it's Valentines Day and the merc with a mouth finally has hit the big screen and it is as glorious as one could ever hope. After the unfortunate portrayal of the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Deadpool brings the fourth wall-breaking mercenary ...

#REVIEW: “PRIDE + PREJUDICE + ZOMBIES”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
With the Director of 17 Again and Charlie St. Cloud, as well as the screenwriter of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Burr Steers taking the reins, we admit to a bit of prejudgement with Zombie-Romance Mashup, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Based on a widely-read Graphic Novel, the Movie thankfully is a bloody good time.
The Movie begins with one of our heroes – Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley), as he is invited into town to assess a growing zombie ...

#REVIEW: “HAIL, CAESAR!”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
How do you properly describe the work of Oscar-winning duo Joel and Ethan Coen? While their Films often deal in nostalgia and faith, each one is different from the next. They are extremely hard to compare next to each other, and even their best work comes off as polarizing to major audiences. After their underrated near-masterpiece Inside Llewyn Davis, I was expecting big things from Hail, Caesar! But knowing the Coens, I should have known to never ...

#REVIEW: “THE CHOICE”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
We've seen a string of Romances make their way to the Big Screen from Author Nicholas Sparks in recent years. Critics on the consensus have not seen eye to eye with these Adaptations, but that has not stopped his fans from coming back time and time again.
The latest outing from Sparks, The Choice, directed by Ross Katz, unfortunately is not the type of Film that critics can get behind and more so, audiences. The story is simplistic, boy meets ...

#REVIEW: “THE LADY IN THE VAN”
Review by Siobhán Rich for Mr. Will Wong
Prior to its world premiere at TIFF last year, Director Nicholas Hytner’s Film The Lady in the Van had been a Book, a Play, and even a Radio Play on the BBC. The Film’s roots are more than evident in Alan Bennett’s beautiful script. This of course, is no surprise since in addition to writing the Book he also lived the story so deftly brought to life by Alex Jennings (Bennett) and Maggie Smith (Miss Shepherd).
The Lady in the Van tells the ...

#REVIEW: “THE FINEST HOURS”
Review by David Baldwin for Mr. Will Wong
During a horrific winter storm in 1952, oil tanker SS Pendleton is cut in half along the coast of Cape Cod by heavy winds and waves, killing the captain and a number of crew members. With the remaining crew clinging to hope on half a ship, the local branch of the Coast Guard send a few men in on a suicide mission to save them. And if that sounds at all far-fetched, it really should not – it is actually based on a true story.
There is not much to ...

#REVIEW: “FIFTY SHADES OF BLACK”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
Director Michael Tiddes and comedic star Marlon Wayans have teamed together in recent years on horror spoofs A Haunted House and its Sequel. They return for a third time with the regretfully-unfunny parody of BDSM Romance, Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades of Black. Screenwriters Rick Alvarez and Marlon Wayans are tasked with carrying the weight of crafting some heavy-hitting jokes, however the Film alas gives us only a few memorable ...

In today’s world, Dystopic Sci-Fi has become opium of the masses. From teen fiction to their cinematic cousins there’s a lot of people trying to cash in on the formula. #REVIEW: “DIRTY GRANDPA”
In a way, DIRTY GRANDPA from Director/Writer Dan Mazer (Borat, Bruno) is a bit of a throwback to the quintessential raunchy Comedy. It is offensive, outright lewd actually and a double-fisted bird flip to the political correctness of the world we live in today. But if you can forgive this and realize how through its ridiculousness that it is all in good fun, you'll be just fine.
Jason (Zac Efron), a handsome and promising young lawyer, is about to get married in a week to beautiful ...
