Production is underway on âDeliver Me from Nowhere,â the eagerly anticipated movie adaptation of Warren Zanesâ fascinating telling of the making of Bruce Springsteenâs 1982 âNebraskaâ album. Slated for theaters in 2025, the film is written and directed by Scott Cooper (âCrazy Heart,â âHostiles,â âAntlers,â âBlack Massâ) and stars Jeremy Allen White (âThe Bear,â âThe Iron Claw,â âShamelessâ) as the visionary musician as he embarks on an emotional journey to record âNebraska.â
âBeginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,â said Cooper. âBruce Springsteenâs âNebraskaâ has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The albumâs raw, unvarnished portrayal of lifeâs trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanesâ compelling narrative of Bruceâs life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honouring Bruceâs legacy in a transformative cinematic experience. It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with Bruce and Jon [Landau] as I tell their story, and their creative energy fuels every part of this journey. As well, Iâm excited to reunite with my friend, David Greenbaum [president, Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios], as he embarks on his new role at Disney, adding another layer of inspiration to this project.â

¡ Paul Walter Hauser (âBlack Bird,â âRichard Jewellâ) portrays guitar tech Mike Batlan.
¡ Odessa Young (âMothering Sunday,â âThe Staircaseâ) is young Faye, a formative love interest in Springsteenâs life.
¡ Sir Stephen Graham (âYoung Woman and the Sea,â âPirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Talesâ) plays Springsteenâs father.
¡ Johnny Cannizzaro (âQuantum Leap,â âJersey Boysâ) joins the cast as The E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt.
The development of âNebraska,â which followed Springsteenâs 1981 âThe River Tour,â marked a pivotal time in his life, one that he would only openly talk about decades after its release. Itâs regarded as a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteenâs New Jersey bedroom and without The E Street Band, âNebraskaâ is considered one of Springsteenâs most enduring worksâa raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.
Among the most recognized South Jersey natives, Springsteen maintains a huge footprint at the Jersey Shore, frequenting local shops, pizza parlors, pubs, restaurants and music venues. Filming for âDeliver Me from Nowhereâ will take place primarily in locations in New Jersey and New York, with additional production in Los Angeles.
Cooper produces with the Gotham Groupâs Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (âThe Maze Runnerâ trilogy, âJuror #2â) and Eric Robinson (âKodachrome,â âLast Daysâ), who developed the project with Cooper. Scott Stuber (âFrankenstein,â âTed,â âSafe Houseâ) also produces. Tracey Landon (âMaestro,â âAmsterdamâ), who recently worked with Cooper on âThe Pale Blue Eye,â and Warren Zanes are executive producing.
