Focus Features has partnered with Blumhouse, the company behind some of the generation’s most iconic and groundbreaking horror films, for Curry Barker’s breakout debut OBSESSION. Hailed at TIFF as a shocking and unsettling descent into abject horror, the film will hit U.S. theaters on May 15, 2026, with Universal Pictures International handling worldwide distribution. Today we get a Teaser.
Jason Blum will serve as an executive producer on OBSESSION
Following its celebrated midnight screening debut at TIFF, OBSESSION has captivated audiences with sold-out screenings at Fantastic Fest and also won Sitges’ coveted People’s Choice Award.
The film currently holds an outstanding 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Following Blumhouse’s merger with James Wan’s Atomic Monster, the combined companies are responsible for nearly $9 billion in worldwide box office. On Friday, Blumhouse-Atomic Monster will release Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, and has an exciting 2026 planned with the release of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, Mortal Kombat 2, Jacob Chase’s Insidious, and Rob Savage’s Other Mommy, in addition to Obsession.
Additionally, Barker’s next project, ANYTHING BUT GHOSTS, set up with Blumhouse and Spooky Pictures, will see him direct, star, and co-write with creative partner Cooper Tomlinson, who will also star.
