#REVIEW: “A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS”
Review by Justin Waldman for Mr. Will Wong
‘Tis the season to be jolly and celebrate and what better than a catch-up with our favourite Bad Moms? Get ready for the Sequel A Bad Moms Christmas, which is just as fun as its Predecessor, maybe even more so!
This installment sees our favourite Kiki (Kristen Bell), Amy (Mila Kunis) and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) together for the first time with their mothers, played respectively by Cheryl Hines, Christine Baranski and Susan Sarandon. Christmas can be a challenging time for any family, but factor in an overbearing mother or a mother who is never around and things are bound to get interesting.
Kiki and her mother lack boundaries, while Amy’s mother sees her as a perpetual disappointment leading her to overcompensate by constantly reassuring herself that she is the greatest mom/grandmother on the face of the earth. Carla’s mother usually surfaces only when she’s in debt.
The magical chemistry we loved so much between Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn is back once again, but the latter just absolutely shines. Baranski among all the strong new cast additions, is a welcome surprise. Her performance is absolutely hilarious, never missing a beat and providing some of the most laugh-out-loud moments of the Film.
A Bad Moms Christmas is the perfect Holiday Movie truly bringing everyone together with the joys of laughter. While it retains the same raunchy humour we have come to expect, it has plenty of heart. Moms work hard and need a holiday too! The Film sheds light on how stressful Christmas really is for many of us, and that celebrating the process of getting holiday-ready is all-parts fun. So hop on your sleds, get your reindeers ready, and make sure you see A Bad Moms Christmas!
