The Breast Fest Film Fest takes place in Toronto from Friday, November 2, 2012 through Sunday, November 4, 2012, with a mission of utilizing Arts and Film to educate and build dialogue about issues surrounding Breast Cancer. The Festival includes Films, a Speaker Series and a Comedy Night.
Taking place at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, the Festival this year is highlighted by an intriguing variety of Films including Opening Night Gala, Jonna’s Body, Please Hold – a Comedy which centers around the various Inhabitants of a Woman’s Body, teaming together in a fight to save her life. Documentary Pink Ribbons Inc. also poses the much-thought-about question: where do all the proceeds from all these “Pink” Campaigns in support of Breast Cancer go and what is achieved? Semper Fi: Always Faithful follows a Marine Corps Master Sargent who begins to probe after his Daughter dies from Leukemia and a growing number of Men at a Corps Base are diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Some famous Canadians to appear throughout the Festival include: Scott Thompson, Elvira Kurt and Sandra Shamas!
